Fighters,
Fight until the bitter end.
Don`t try to figure out some trend,
don`t freely enemies befriend,
Mixed messages must not send.
we made ourselves lonely on purpose to befriend their egos so they could recuse us from our self built imprisonment just to do it all over again
Shades of death
Are thou friend to befriend
Or, mine enemy to be foe
It's all in how I choose
To greet thee in life's end
With misgivings and regret
Or happiness lived
• Such a charming fellow
• With eyes a vibrant yellow
• He'll stare you down
• Often with a frown
• Befriend him and you'll see he's quite mellow
melding head with heart
cognition now spherical
we befriend silence
becoming thus a bliss mist
we are dweller of the void

From sky new novel 'Approaching Storm'
The winds of war have called again
courage summoned—to befriend
Through evil darkness blowing strong
we face the threatened coming dawn
i recently befriended
her
and that might have been one of my biggest mistakes
because now i see why she's so great
and i realize now why you chose her
and i can't help but feel even sadder
They wait till I sleep
and hide within
recalling old memories
and past chagrins
Those tracks untrodden
to walk again
each choice unchosen
—my dreams befriend
(Dreamsleep: March, 2022)
when all hope is lost
randomness regains control
~ time to befriend chance

There was a virile freight train from South Bend
A sexy caboose he dared to befriend --
He said, "You're my dream"
And let out some steam --
Then poured all his hot coals in her south end
Love letting go
This lighthouse
Calls your name
What does this love know
This night still blind
This love letting go
This heart befriend us, now
Broken tears shall flow
Until, this love letting go

Jesus ate and drank with the publican and sinner,
And was accused of being a glutton and a winebibber;
But He showed us the wisdom of a true soul winner-
That first you must befriend the publican and sinner.
Fancy speaks as fancy can
See if you can understand
Sorry pokes as sorry can
To attempt now to befriend
Worry jerks as worry can
A silly sorry work grand

When I needed someone to talk to
You said I could befriend you
Said that I could trust you
Said how you was oh so true
When I did
You turned on me
What was your reasons for hurting me?
You like everyone else
Lied to me
Form:
Life only means life
when sorrow is sturdily liberated
from a fearful heart.
Yet the strongest heart valiantly beats
when life frees life
into liberated sadness,
not to fearlessly beat but
befriend sorrow.

If you live your life truly,
death walks close behind
There to whisper…
“Time is not on your side”
Your choice pending darkness,
to ignore or befriend
And embrace
—or forever to deny

A paisley shirt?
Pants too tight.
Last year's shoes?
He's so not-right.
Carries textbooks,
And a flip-phone?
Doesn't cuss!
Wears cologne?
Should I befriend him?
Better not.
My friends might see
That I am who I'm not.
Like a sparkling Roman candle –
Red beardtongue dots the canyon.
Oh, what handsome bugles!
That decorate the trail along
Where pebbles were brushed aside
And sway with the breeze –
Not to elicit surprise
But to befriend the greenery.
Sun
Go down
Let my face
befriend darkness
So he may not seek
these lips of mine that plead
that beg needy for his kiss
Nor feel my aching for his touch
So He may not look me in the eyes
and find there the afterglow of his love
Lilies were aghast at the new hybrid.
She was freckled with orange spots.
How dare she! They whispered.
Some tittered.
Until the garden club ladies appeared
Oohing and praising “spotted medallion orange”.
Now all the lilies wanted to befriend her.
Live your days with purpose,
and death walks by your side
To constantly remind,
what time will not abide
Your choice on how to handle,
ignore or then befriend
That last step left untaken
—where life begins again
(Bryce Canyon: August, 2019)
Can you ever make love
what you want it to be
Can a heart once broken
become whole at the end
Can the feelings you wished for
unleash and be free
Can the joy that alludes you
—with longing befriend
