New In School

A paisley shirt? Pants too tight. Last year's shoes? He's so not-right. Carries textbooks, And a flip-phone? Doesn't cuss! Wears cologne? Should I befriend him? Better not. My friends might see That I am who I'm not.

This one touched me, Gershon. I wonder how many popular kids pass up chances to befriend those who are "different"--but deep down want to reach out! Janice

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful observation, Janice...You know, high school years seem to be "peak-conformity" years. And yet, how will are we now, as "adults" to bfriend those who are more than a little 'different?' ... Food for thought...:-) Gershon
