A barking dog never bites
yeah, right, just try telling that to the neighbors
German Shepherd!!
Trees speak in whispers,
words dance within leaves, rustling.
Roots deep hold secrets
whilst barks break in memory.
Birds answer a question, lost.
Airedale, king of the terriers
Domain without borders or barriers
Stubborn and proud
On alert, never cowed
Justly known for their cute little derrières
Benji the dog loves to bark
As a small white dog giving it all his heart
To each one he sees walking past
At his front door for lots of laughs.

when the dogs went to the park
an urge to pee was sparked
So they lined up at a tree
There was no fire hydrant you see
And each took a turn at the 'bark'

You don't miss me
and the forest is dark
you don't miss me
and the night has no stars
you don't miss me
and I can hear the bark
you don't miss me
and that broke my heart.

he had a life
within the life of ours
an imprint on eternity
his cuddles come
from angels now
or he’ll bark at them
relentlessly

I hear a barking dog in the distance tonight
Not a desperate bark or a warning bark
One of those weird I-am-bored-with-life-barks
Neither of my own dogs respond
They also have no use for small constant yipping dogs
I'm a flower tickler
with a flower tickler's thumb
like my dog before me
although he's more of a philanthropist
than a poet, but, like him, I too bark
my greenery of colours when needed
and tickle flowers

stan sand
Not so delicate
Scratchy surface of wood bark
Unlike plain paper
What we have to write
We put on the smooth surface
Of paper not bark
Very glamorous
Bark of a lovely birch tree
Best over paper

A cunning man from Cork,
Did train his wife to bark,
When salesman tried to knock,
wife set upon them with a bark,
Drove them far away from Cork!!!
Words used Cork, Train, tried, upon, far

I want chocolate in the dark,
but when the sun goes down in,
the moon lights up Shreveport. Now I chew on tree bark;
The Taste is blah!! It hurts my teeth. Now I suck on Maple Leaves;

The three birch trees
Stand high on a hill
Each one had a trim
Their top parts removed
As the time went by
Slowly the limbs grew
They began to sprout
Branches and green leaves
Now its Autumn
Their leaves have turned brown
Hanging to the branches
Ready to fall
I like tree bark
Like to climb up it
With shoes with metal spikes
And cuffs with sharp hooks
I see a bird's nest
With eggs that are blue
I count five or six
It's a robin's kin
If I fall down hard
From this mighty height
I will crush a limb
I will hold on tight

Die Birkenrinde
Wie hell sie so schön erstrahlt
Im hellen Lichtschein
The bark of birches
Shines so beautifully bright
In clear sunlight
Corteza de abedules
Tan maravillosamente brilla
En clara luz del sol
Sept morn before the dawn
trees sleep, the dew weeps
autumn’s chill, really no thrill
leaves floating, grounds coating
anticipation resting, yet temps testing
winter’s voice, will have its choice
time on the wheel, still left to feel
warm days savored, fall still flavored
There was a young dog
he got lost in a fog
He couldn't get home
all night he continued to roam
When the fog cleared
there were things that he feared
He started to bark
he was scared of the dark
Now he's back home and having some fun
he and his owner just back from a run
Mr. Angry Bark, your eyes terrify us.
Your mouth so distorted, your ambiance scary.
You are rough and harsh; I steer away from you always.
Glooming the corner of the yard where you stand frowning.
You frighten us with your beady dark irritated eyes.
Lunch tomorrow? I don’t see why not.
I will bring a picnic.

FOREST QUEEN
As ash the oak remembers the kiss of the flame.
Fallen branches remember the wind’s caress.
The bark is armor hardened by time.
Her leaves hum lullabies for the sun.
Beneath her boughs, the breeze begins to breathe.
She stands. She waits. She grows. She knows.
The bark of the birch - it’s curled for peeling
as the whippoorwill commands the block.
I fill my lungs with the pine-riddled air,
discounting the call of the clock.
A trickle of water escapes the hose,
a new pepper has sprouted - no, a pair!
Pleased with the snips of roses I chose,
apart from a vase, I haven’t a care.
the white bark pine
bends windwards
the west wind
roars in from the west
mercilessly flogging
flurries of snow
the white bark pine
turns away
and doesn’t want to know
it does not have to swivel
and twist through human debris
it just must ride the winter
arthritic as it is
and show up living white
in next year’s summer sun
without articulation
of twisted pain
The night was very dark,
the rough seas gave out a bark.
Would our small boat the Ark,
make it in these tall waves or stay in park?
Then we spotted the light,
it was small and not bright.
Just a blink of white,
then out of site.
We finally got docked,
were told the lighthouse could not be unlocked.
It was haunted many would say,
we know the truth about that day.
As I am here surrounded by the Numbness
of tree trunks - still and nameless in the breeze -
A Willow weeping crystals of uncertain
Bombarding a century that does not belong to me
But I AM here surrounded by the people
who blindly thrust my chest and leave the broken thorns
and no one cares when mutilating names of lovers
How hurtful is when carving in immortality of bark...

Lions don't barks
They roar
Always active and focus
Ready to take action at any time
They set eyes on a prey or an attacker.
Lions don't relent
They go furiously and fearlessly
After what they want or need
No matter the recklessness.
In the game of life
Be the lion
Pursue your dreams relentlessly
Go after all you want or need
Slowly and steady without hesitation
If you're afraid of failure
You won't begin.
