See Sea Sails

The sea I sail
Will not prevail
To treasures
Of a new land
The sail I see
Just like me
Holds only wind
In its hand

This is freewill
Paying bills
Hunters with no kill
Spaghetti sauce
Stained sleeve
I pick up the Shout!
Scream bloody murder
And run
Naked, wild
Into the woods

Launch

Eyes close
        Swirling flashes
Fading lights
        Or nebula
No longer
        Stationary
Into the void
        The undulation
Of prime energy
        Wooshing
To stillness

The Ruins

Architectural terror
Built by masons
With no squares
No preparation
Or foundation
A carbon disaster
Of weathered
Crumbling plaster
Time chuckles
Unchallenged
Supports buckle
Falling faster

Bio Babe

From scabs to scars
Cosmic stars
The vast distance
The existence of the wound
Not forgotten
But passed over softly by my hand
A faint reminder
Of a distant land
Where life once thrived
Now only sand

Opposing Views

The power of truth be
With he who insists
That God, unlike man
Has omnipotent hands
And persists
And persists
And persists

The burden of lies be
WIth he who insists
The product of man
Has a divine plan
And exists
And exists
And exists

They

In complete clarity
Am I so bold
With brimming ego
To press the question
In absolute sincerity
To even ask it
When not statistically probable
It's borderline illogical
Still it grips me
Without falsehood
The possibility
It's all them
And not me

Cupcakes and Karma

The nice kid
Giving away
All the cupcakes
Wanting, but forgoing
Forsaking frosting
Himself
Giving away
Love
Silently growing
Older and angry
Waiting for it
And karma
In the outer bands
Unseen
Begging
The heavens
For the ever-elusive
Orbital return

         Bouncing off a trampoline
Anton Dvorak fell on his head ~

             A ‘cancelled Czech’
             Poor Anton was dead

         Long ago, in the 1600’s
Native Americans were not so financial...

             Sold Manhattan for 24 bucks
A transaction they wish they could cancel

Barack

The smooth words
And cock-strut swagger
Don't have me fooled
Disturbing, pathetic
Alarming
Millions drowning
In their drool
Empty I say
An egg without yoke
A passionate play
A fire without smoke
Credit and status
For the phoniest of wit
It's not what you say
Just the way
That you read it

The Longest, Harshest, Meanest Poem Ever Written

It was something
So many words
It rattled on
Like a streetcar
And it was harsh too
It really picked things apart
It made Howl
Seem like a squeak
I can't remember
Who wrote it
I think
It was some guy
From Great Britain
All I remember is that
It was the longest
The harshest
The meanest poem
Ever written

Lights, Madiba, Action

People attending the London premiere of a new film about Nelson Mandela were told of his death as the closing credits rolled, on 5th December 2013. My new poem is written in honor of the anti-apartheid icon and I invite you to read it here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lights-Madiba-Action/345492948926266 .

Circular Love

It is a shameful desire
That draws me to you
At such a deeply
Darkened hour
Beyond the night
Hours from dawn
I want to taste
Your vibrant colors
I want to rest
Within your void
I wish to hear
Your sweetened flavors
At last!
At last!
I set you out before me
Your curves I will devour
It is my love
Of Fruit Loops
That grips me
At this hour

The Long Year

It really made things hard
    Living across the courtyard
And seeing you here and there
But it was a melancholy treat
    To feel so incomplete
A lonely, sweet, aching, blur
So one year I waited
In serene synergy with time
Wrote fire, rhyme, and song
I want to thank you for calling
    And restoring the gnawing
And making the year so long

Sit quiet; look deep into my eyes,
Find my center and drown yourself there.
Slowly let go..let your channels run free..
Look deep; let me have your power.

I am with you; I am holding your hands,
Let your dark pain flow to me..
This magnetism, locks our eyes firmly..
I invade you and let you live freely again.

This is based on the work of Anton Mesmer
A German physician who lived 1724-1815
His early work led to the development of
Hypnotism by J Braid later in the 1840's
