babies are buried
now we are happy relaxed
single missile lost
The Call to War or False Promises
They spoke of honor carved in stone,
Of glory waving from a hill.
They lit the torch, then threw us in,
And called the burning “noble will.”
They draped their lies in marching drums,
And wrote our names on gilded scrolls,
But none could see, beneath the hymns,
The hunger swallowing our souls.
One upon a nightmare,
There were dueling fairy godfathers
Different ideals for the same concepts
Supreme Justices
Put the people on trial
Now it's Shared land vs Shared strife
It's just a domestic terror dispute
Why can't we have joint custody?
Are we dooming our children to
Early graves?
They'll divorce themselves from
The faith we held in fairy tales

Anti-war, yep. Not sorry.
There are colors that please the eyes:
Rainbows, sunsets, and a sunrise
On psychedelic, I can't gaze
Without recalling careless days.
Ponytails, psychedelic shirts
Flower girls in long, faded skirts
Hippies searching in mushroom clouds
Anti-war protests drawing crowds
Talk of love is everywhere
Psychic wisdom floats in the air
Peace and love in every song
Thinking all the world can be one
While in the flower fields afar
Youths die fighting another war.
POTW!
"You say you want a revolution" screamed the four,
John, Paul, George and Ringo beat down the door.
Melody and harmony and Brit sex appeal gone anti-war
Nine times round the turn table with Yoko, hardcore.
Fab stereo artists with composite collages for musical scores,
they kicked, whined, smoked and dined in venues top-drawer.
Number 9 was the cut most radical by lore
chaos, poetry, and prose composed with sound effects galore,
a sandwiched montage of "what are you looking for?"
