Bogomil Cove

Hidden yet rugged
At the bottom of the world
Cool water flowing
High above Hell’s barren gates
High above ringed deception

The Penguin

THE PENGUIN

The penguin’s no slouch, he’s a winner
By sartorial standards no sinner
He’ll emerge in a trice
From the Antarctic ice
Already dressed for dinner

The Nihilist Penguin

There was once a penguin who thought
That religion and morals were naught,
As he swam in cold water
He thought, "Boy, I oughta...
Do something, but I don't know what.”
Form: Limerick

Annoyed With Self Worship

Annoyed with Self Worship

Am annoyed with those who self worship,
And out has been causing so many to flip;
At least four
Or maybe more,
To Antarctic for years should take a trip.

Penguins are flightless birds
Their home Antarctic
They are sea birds
In colour they are black
     and white
All they need is a
     big red bow
To dress up their tuxedo
The ladies wear scarfs

tropic afternoons

Icebergs in the Antarctic and Arctic are menacingly melting,
Mud slides, freezing Winters, summers are sweltering,
Oceans are encroaching, drowning Earth,
Rainfalls severe across its girth and dearth,
End of humanity, a dire situation globally threatening.

Seven Seas

I dreamt of north and south Pacific
Of the north and south atlantic
Of the Indian and the Arctic
And the vastness of Antarctic

But it was in the Pacific
That my heart was pacified
For your beauty is terrific
Your charm struck my pride

antarctic heat wave
spit crackles pre-hitting ground -

chilly fall evening –
last traces of you leave in

death gave me the news -
I said, “You’ll have to wait friend

Twilight of the Snow Gods

In the twilight of the snow gods
A twinkle-mist plays in the
Car-light express of a ten below day.
In the street a man rushes by--
Frozen--wishing that
Amundsen and his team
Would appear and take him onward.

When in the icy deep
The man secretly yearns to stand
Marrow to marrow
With the Antarctic pulse that
Held so much promise
For the ice-men of long ago.
"Mush."

What is contentment? Please let me know
Describe it to me. --I've been wondering so
Is it deep down inside you? Does it last very long?
Does it leave you the instant things start to go wrong?

Perhaps it's just an aspiration, a star for which to aim
Or is it an aberration -- like Antarctic rain?
What is contentment? Please let me know
So I can experience it for a day -- before I go ...

A Swede, a Dane and Two Norwegians

Everyone who has money
should drop it in a vat and
anyone who needs money

should take what they need
a Swede, a Dane and two
Norwegians tell Fred, also an

economist who flew in from Yale.
After a three-day seminar in the
Antarctic, the four men sit down

with tankards of ale, each comfy
in a chaise lounge chair on
an ice floe slowly melting.

Back at Yale, CNN interviews Fred
about his book on the seminar.
The CIA is now investigating.

the sky was cold and grey
when
yesterday
you told me where the Secret Penguin lay
in bygone years
they say he was a sight
the avian conundrum
in black and white

operating in ice-cold
frozen stealth
he redistributed the ocean's wealth
some say
he went down in a bullet hail
trying to save a hunted humpback whale

his misty memory
lives down under
he left us with much more than wonder
in the Antarctic wilderness below
his noble three-toed footprint
in the snow.

My Peaceful Toilet

A peaceful place is not only the Antarctic or sea but the toilet seat.Sitting on it and doing my business is like heaven for me.

But when I see YouTube while doing my work is like having Dorito's with chesse.

When I go inside the toilet it feels like I am entering a whole new world where I can do anything I want and nobody is going to stop me and makes me feel like I am in my own country.

But when I exit it is like leaving my most cherished possessions and makes me feel like crying.

The sky was cold and grey, when, yesterday,
you told me where the Secret Penguin lay.
In bygone years, they say, he was a sight,

he redistributed the ocean's wealth.
Some say he went down in a bullet hail,
