grating sky noises
elongated screechy scream
clamoring airplane
destroying silence
threatening my peace of mind
in flight path daily
Your love letter
came on paper wings
like airplanes.
I'm floating
in lambent ether
with each vowel
and consonant
your hand inscribed.
windy autumn day
golden leaves fluttering down
dancing on the breeze
clear hot dry fall day
sky gazing at white airplanes
holiday dreams
in the depth of the forest I hear the songs of birds
and if flying the sky the noises of propellers
airplanes silencing the singing of the soar.
Are signals being cross
Causing the airplanes to crash
Or just drop from the skies
Something is very wrong and
I won't be flying
NO TIME SOON
the skies overhead
as airplanes come and depart
crisscrossing smoke trails
the smell of coffee
perking in the kitchen
wafting on the air
and I go out in the street
I become a stuff for other stuff
and I go.
then
I cover my eardrums and I press
I press to see
should begin
from somewhere!
You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes for recordings?
Why can't they make the whole airplane out of that very same substance?
Making airplanes is Wichita's main thing
The worlds air capital, said Bing news last spring
Cessna, and Lear jet
Are great you can bet,
But there was a story about Boeing on Bing!
(for Johnny and June)
I fell into an airplane tire
It went round and round
And the plane went higher
And it turns turns turns
That airplane tire.
That airplane tire.
a white flashing strobe
incoming airplanes’ lighthouse
light across far ridge
rays of light in the darkness
appreciative pilot

they fly fast a nd slow
as they go
high in the sky
it could be insane
when they go near or inplane
they get in this smoking thing
it trouble it could bring
BRIDS AND AIRPLANE WINGS
Frequent flying will leave the Earth dead.
Driving cars means disaster ahead.
And we must give up meat
or our maker we’ll meet.
So it’s settled: we're staying in bed.
Through the eyes of a child
You will see
Butterflies and birds and bees
Airplanes high up in the sky
Millions of fluttering fireflies
An elephant A monkey too
In the eyes of a child
Dreams come true

Paper Airplanes
Made paper airplanes
teaching craft to Granddaughter
and threw sharp to fly.
Grand went excitement for both
on equally intense joy.

paper airplanes – like
origami frogs I’ve made -
useless in design
the frogs would hop mere inches
the planes soared for mere seconds

birds fly high and die
airplanes casually crash ~
within vital cells
jets plow proudly
calamitous hoppers cleave ~
bombs blow balloons
none responsible
wars fought won laurelled and lost ~
cool clouds camouflage

THESE ARE THINGS THAT FLY
as i look around
for I see in the skies those
things that fly so high
the birds, airplanes and
jets, insects the clouds as such
these are things that fly

Life is over. I've lost the golden clover...
S'over, s'all over, when I'm here in Dover...
Sunk the ship, an' airplanes flown over...
S'pose I done it to m'self, and moreover...
I'm simply a-wastin' 'way here....
Cut the chords 'fore I am abhorred....
Trains are romantic,
airplanes are not
The prepared speech pedantic,
‘a song lyric caught’
Your eyes have to choose
between vision and sight
Or your spirit transforms
—changing day into night
(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2018)
Unseen white contrails
Paper airplanes sail above
Unwritten, unheard
Blank sheets flying through my mind
Silent, legendary jetstreams.

and so I write my poetry - on paper airplanes
throw them out the window
then I run to the other side of the house
open another window - hoping
that something comes back.

35, 000 above ground
Severe thunderstorms
Imperceptibly conceal amongst
Infinite blue.
Airbus shakes
We both do,
I pray
Not out loud
Ask for another day
Forgiveness
Then Question Injections,
And
Why airplanes don’t
Have giant parachutes.
Between you and me,
There are..
a distance that can't be passed by airplanes,
a darkness that can't be lightened by the Sun
and a mixed group of rocks and wild animals
that aren't used to listen to music or breed pigeons.
But we can meet, and we will surely meet!
Risk Takers excite me
Jumping in without hesitation
Optimism oozing out of them
Self confident
Perpetually ready
Game for whatever
Diving off cliffs
Our out of airplanes
Without caution
Expecting the best
Anticipating the thrill of the win
And usually getting it
