Come the mighty night
with stars and moon blazing bright.
Hunters hark delight!
Predators prey with sharp sight.
Smaller creatures cringe, affright!
Zealous zombies searching,
Zipping around affright,
Zigging and then zagging,
Zapping all those in sight.
Zephyrs zoom behind them
Zestful with fungal blight.
Zany fun Hallows Night!
Abandon moon, leaves star filled night
Biting wind howled, darken sky affright
Crossed the golden field left or right
Daunting job just standing with eyes shut tight
Elating, not a crow in sight

The friar’s light, a deceiving light,
my nightmares deluding my mind
crossing the misty moors at night.
The friar’s light, a deceiving light.
Howling hounds affright – bite! They bite!
My eyes wide open but I’m blind!
The friar’s light, a deceiving light,
my nightmares deluding my mind.
Demon fright
in darkest night
despite
bright heaven's light
life seems so finite,
recondite,
so trite.
Thus, affright,
we fight,
as we write
our delight
in nightmared midnight
to unveil our twilight
sight
and, once more, see right.

The Sandman tip-toes into the room
on that night when witches fly by on brooms
His task, alas, is daunting tonight
with ghosts affright, jack-o-lanterns alight
Yet tired trick-or-treaters soon enough
long for the comfort of their pillow's fluff
That's when the Sandman makes his move ~
tender eyelids grow heavy, magic touch again proved
Like Diamonds in the Trees
The freezing rain fell through the night
as Mother Nature cast her curse
and in the morn the world affright.
The chilling sight seemed so adverse;
a frozen wasteland getting worse.
But sunrise on the second day
found Mother Nature’s new display
as in the trees with icy tone
reflections in the sun’s bright ray
like diamonds on the branches shown.

Lay it out dissected star,
Thy beauty marred seen from afar,
That science has what's done to thee,
Destroyed that flight, orb's fantasy.
Where the mountains of the moon rise surging
Up from shallow seas aspiring,
And the circle of unending light
Has left us in the dark affright.

Another day unfolding sight.
Discover what you can you might!
But the distance curved and bright
You will never travel.
