En Pointe

There was a young man from Detroit
Whose thinking they say was adroit
He challenged the sun
To have some hot fun
Ended up with his head en pointe.

Defiance

Effusive as unkindly
traits may be
They factor as impulsive evidence
of choice
Unbroken as futile swords
felled a seam
Adroit patterns drew themselves
a gaudy noise

I Also Envy Your Travelers' Miles, Mr. Bumblebee.

Buzzing bee, keep the sun in your sights,
packing nectar down snug in your tights.
So adroit at your task
that I just had to ask:
" Is that dinner on all of your flights?"

Bent is Strong, Straight is Weak

Listen to poem:
In nature, being adroit and straight is rare,
It's curves and bends that fill the air.
See rivers that twist,
Trees bent to resist,
For strength lies in being bent, not straight.

There was a silly woman from Detroit Who at everything was adroit She couldn't ev'n boil an egg She just kept them in a keg And then she threw them like a quoit. Dorian Petersen Potter aka ladydp2000 copyright@2014 10.21.2014

Timing Is Everything

We kept circling the room like adroit skeletons
Around the turbulent senses tossed about
But with desire bulging, remote concerns drifted
There was no other moment
Time could expand
To reach its pinnacle
Devout and mysterious
Life offered its feather wings
So lovers could take aim

Incurable Pain.

Chromed blade promptly
With adroit, raw incisions
Separates toxic, mounting mass

Unsterilized weeping fears
Tourniquet burnt
By caring eyes separated

Self-victimization
Flooding the dark room
With febrile infectious tears

Incessant wakened hours pass
The phantom poison
Remains flowing

========================

Father forms first fecund features
Attaining all adroit artisan attitudes
The trueborn titles truthful triumph
His humbleness hails heirship honor
Ennobling earthly efforts evoke excellence
Rearing relations retaining roots rights

Pale Daughters Part Three

Pale daughters beam in the miers
their freckles shine galore
eating sorbet all day

They skip to school
trampling on the dandelions
They are the daughters of pan
musically adroit yet quite forlorn

Their mother tongue is telling half truths
to their peers
half awake they want to wrest your pulse
They cannot be considered inconsequential

Longing For Freedom

I don't attend the circus
it could leave a person nervous
for they have animals in cages
this has been happening for ages
the barker tries to pull you in
when they abate the untamed in the den
with euphony they do recite
to some it is a delight
when I was little though not in shock
vividly I did block
I avoid places where they exploit
this method of adroit

Metropolis

There survives a burg, strangled by,

A fume as thick as thieves,

Where soaring glass stalagmites screen,

The adroit aggrieved.

Skyscrapers and broad avenues,

Where vast trains shunt and squall,

Where soaring glass stalagmites screen,

The vestige’s caterwaul.

Where night tide is perennial,

The gargoyles chill and ward,

Aged curves and finials resist,

Thick gnarling walls contort.

Alive With Aspirations

The earth clutches and clouds cling as the climate changes
and the sun simmers throughout hot seasons
we humans in cold chilly nights constantly cling and clasp
to form the heat the heart heartily hopes for
and I wonder whether we will continue
are we able and apt adroit and adept
to make the changes needed
I guess we will see all of us the human We
aiming with hope ambition and aspiration

Fat Acrobats

A fat acrobat from Detroit
lost his grip for he wasn't adroit
he fell with a plop
his partner on top
which really was quite an exploit!

Yes, Tubby made quite a fine matress
Ringling Brothers asked for his address
he made his career
plopped on his derriere
It seems he had started a fad.. YES!

Soon crowds lined the seats of the rink
wondering if Tubby would stink
he finished the task
in spite of some gas
Now Tubby is dressing in mink.

Go Tigers

These players are very athletic and adroit. This baseball team represents the City of Detroit. The fans who attend their games are happy as a lark. These boys play their home contests at Comerica Park. With hitting and pitching, this team has gotten it all together. Their fans just hope Detroit has plenty of sunny weather. The Tigers are playing well during this current campaign. Perhaps a pennant is something this team can attain. July 27, 2013

The Enemy Within

While Satan still manipulates
the call to arms is apparent,
when disarmament stipulates
a flaw a weakness to exploit;
by the next despotic arrant
moving amongst us all adroit.

Peaceful lands of noble intent
sing your gullible lullaby,
relinquish your strength you’ll repent
aiding the augment of evil;
his preying armies to satisfy
destroying peace with upheaval.

While Satan still manipulates
peaceful lands of noble intent.

Equal Opportunity Insult

Who only considers self first
With an ego never reversed
A will to exploit
With skill so adroit
Is a thing that Trump has rehearsed

The U.S. cadaver-in-chief
Has a son con artist and thief
Put Hunter in Trump's cell
Where they'd sit for a spell
On toilets without the gold leaf

Authors note: i'm not fond of selfish/corrupt people. There are so many wonderful denizens on the planet...why should any of the bad ones who have money get away with illegal and immoral acts?

Quagmire

Adroit in this quagmire so meticulously infused
I yield yet the ground beneath me moves
Alone in a room of people I stand confused
Attune in this menagerie so materially abused
Seclusion notwithstanding I relinquish, capitulate, cede
Devoid of qualm I succumb daftly to the lure revealed
Subdued by my rivalry I prevail, endure, exist
Simply a nuance of distinction I concede permit
Infantile I accede yet somehow circumspectly survey
Surreptitiously I allocate the acquisition of the day
