I Quit
It's time I admit that I am a quitter
No longer, am I, a cigarette sitter
The stick, I flung
To save some lung
And now I am abnormally bitter...

Sleeveless
bare shoulders ripple
straining with unseen weight
scarred biceps bulge
saturated by interior rain
veins bursting forth
exploding from darkness
forearms swell abnormally
hiding suppressed emotion
fingers clutch frantically
for a heart shattering.........

Red Sky
From the glimpse of my eye
It's came to a surprise
The sun rise still beautiful
It's breathtaking
How the pinkish colorbleeds red as it fills the sky
It frightens me
I try to gaze away
But it's abnormally color
A deep red
Through the sky's red haze
A mysterious color...

Premium Member Tuning Out the Wife
The stubborn frog was holding tight to the yellow zinnia
She had abnormally long petals, so she kept him dry in spurts.
However, her stalk was slippery. He kept sliding into the wet grass
Let go! His wife said. “It is dry down here, under the mushroom.”
But he had tuned her out for so many years, he could not hear her....

The Sleeping Giant
The sleeping giant stirred
Turned over on one side
The world was engulfed
By an abnormally high tide.

Premium Member Ice Hangings
Listen to poem:
Ice Hangings
David J Walker

My backward
Paradise
Has entered an
Extended season
Of unexpected ice

Unwelcomed
Not needed in
The February storm

That formed after an
Abnormally warm week
Of unwinter like weather

Winter has moved back in
decorating with
ice hangings like
stalactites formed
over a week of
bitter cold nights
that at any moment
might come crashing down

The thing is
we are bound to have
warmer weather again
but not until
Spring sets in...

Premium Member The Annual Church Picnic
The annual church picnic is fun for the congregation for sure.
Grams says the conversation is abnormally delicate and demure.
There are thugs, known criminals, and thieves, I can assure.
But we try to pretend it is not so, said my cousin sweet Burr.

Many uppity muppities try to get you to join, to reassure.
That they have a ticket to heaven on the hems of Ms. Curr.
She is the one who insists she has paved the way for sure.
I run from her because when we scrap, she pulls out my fur....
