Premium Membermy love for sesame street

Which ones are my favorites? Who can say?
It changes hour by hour, day by day
Bert and Ernie have a banter so fine
But Oscar is adorable in his garbage grime.

Count Dracula and Cookie Monster are both a fave.
I would have a difficult time choosing which one to save.
Miss Piggy is outrageous, such a handful for Kermit the Frog.
I love it that they are paired up, in their romantic fog.

Sesame Street was one of the best teachers around.
Their word play was spectacular, as was their color and sound.
They taught my children about vowels, and silent E.
Jim Henson was one of my favorite designers on TV.

Which one of the Muppets is the most like me?
I think Big Bird, that yellow walking talking feathered tree.
I can see walking the street and poking my beak everywhere.
And being cherished for my openness, to be totally fair.

Drop It

If I could of been there,
I would have been.

You left without me.

Your life was full of people you say you didn't want.
A life so comfortable without me.

If I could of been at your show,
I would have been.

You did it on your own.

I heard you,
I've listened to your sound.
I've seen you.

You may not want to see yourself but I do.
Your life is funny.

"There was this cat, right?"

It's funny to see,
it's funny to hear.

There should be more of you to see,
to hear.

You're doing it again?
When can I see it?
When can I hear it?
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street?

I'm not alone in waiting,
in following you.

Kazoos.
Bikes.
Hopscotch.
I'd wave, "Come on!"

We can't wait to see you.
We can't wait to hear you.

Sesame Balanja

Over a bridge
and past a bright green meadow
appeared a little squidge
an angry monstrous short little fellow

"Come, Come my Sesame Balanja,
Follow me to my CrossjaKanga!"

He jumped and he whelped
screaming such strange things
he motioned, and he dotioned, and he complepleded
"Let us go and sing of kings and rings...

Come, Come my Sesame Balanja,
Follow me to my CrossjaKanga!"

So I went where he motioned
under the bridge and into his cavy fridge
where he said he makes his devotions
and as I tripped on a wire, he smiled a smidge

"Come, Come my Sesame Balanja,
Follow me to my CrossjaKanga!"

Soon I realized I could not get up
over me had fallen a net
and there before me- bones in a pileup
I knew this the end, my gullibility my regret

A quiet nearing voice behind began to windup...

"Come, Come my Sesame Balanja,
Follow me to my CrossjaKanga!"

My cover is worn and torn,
open me up.

I will tell you a beautiful,
real, and fascinating story.

Please don’t discard me,
handle me with care.

Give me a chance and I’ll
prove you wrong.

Just because my cover
is ragged doesn’t mean;
there’s not gold within my
pages.

I’m a rare gem and
the knowledge I
possess is priceless.

Open me up and read
my valuable story.

Sign said “ONE WAY” but I was only going one way
Shades of Sesame Street, oh for those long ago days
Hard to go both ways at once
Like wearing undies back to front
Dr. Suess was the kookiest man since mayonnaise

Sesame Place

Sitting on a shady bench,
I watch the people pass -
Every shape and color,
Strolling sweatily en masse.

Shirtless daddies, many fat,
With bellies hanging out,
Arms and legs and backs tattooed
(And other parts, no doubt).

Moms deciding where to go,
Cajoling tots in line;
Babies, toddlers, school-age kids
In every stage of whine.

Heat pours down and patience frays.
Wait! Here's a parade.
Cookie Monster, Ernie, Bert
And Oscar make the grade.

Then it's back to water slides
And one more carousel.
Squeals and shrieks of joy erupt -
It's fun! (or can't you tell?)

Hungry! Thirsty! Feed me now!
Nacho stand is closed.
See the stress within the smiles
Of pictures poorly posed.

Still, the fam's together
And we're mostly having fun.
I check my watch - 6 hours left
Until this day is done.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame Seeds

Add Sesame seeds
To fulfil all cooking needs;
Then go on from there.
(Said my wife not me.)

cross from
the darkside
release me
from these chains
my saviour
i found you

open the lock
with your
magical key
on leaving
the lock
the key
a beautiful butterfly

flying to you love
swallowed by
the frog
who hopped
 into the pond
sitting on
a lilly leaf
eyes closed dreaming

my key
it found you
deep down
 in your throat
searching
 for your heart

have i found you
only then
will i give you
my soul
it is then
you found
the key of
my heart

I Still Watch Sesame Street

(This is a fictional poem)

I'm thirty-five and I have a secret that I don't want people to learn about.
They'll laugh at me if they find out.
People can be mean and I don't want to take the heat.
They must not learn that I watch Sesame Street.
My mom is the only person who knows that I still watch the show.
She says I should've stopped watching it years ago.
Mom thinks I'm dumb because I believe that Big Bird is a real bird.
She says that it's a person in a costume but that's the craziest thing I've ever
heard.
Last week Sesame Street taught me how to count all the way up to ten.
If people learn my secret, I'll never be able to show my face in public again.
