At a nature-type center,
We looked at displays
Of the wildlife that’s local,
Describing their ways.

From a room that said, “Meetings,”
A woman came out
And approached with a smile
And nary a doubt.

“You look like a quilter,”
She said, just to me.
“I am!” I replied,
So she said, “Come and see!”

At twelve or so tables,
With sewing machines,
Were fabrics and projects
And twelve quilting

With purpose simultaneously,
The small instances that give you clarity,
That leads your heart with sincerety,

For you to open your heart to see more,
It's the gentle and unforceful reminders by chance,
That guide your life with loves mighty hand,
That place where you need to be,

Curly Serenade

The awning of Ovis, a shade from the sun,
Cast patterns of light, where her story begun.
Not rain-streaked glass, but a warm, open space,
Where her curly brown hair framed a captivating face.
She moved through the tables, a sun-dappled dream,

When my eyes meet your gaze 
The first eon in surprised time, 
Brushing into each other in a cafe 
The earth somehow wakes,

A LITTLE SERENDIPITY

May we all be blessed to have a little serendipity in our life today…
Something wonderful that happens to us

What makes it all the more wonderful 
is that we didn't expect it.

Last year I wrote of serendipity…how out of nowhere…in a snap
when we least expect it…life…can drop a blessing in our lap.

Yesterday was Milt’s memorial service…to our son Bryan he was a good friend.
Since the service was in Asheville, North Carolina…we could not attend.

The service began at 2:00 P.M. so to honor the friendship they had

burning down my bugbears

re-reading the solitude of memories
