May my words fall like crystal dew
upon the soft soil of your loving heart.
May it sprout the seeds of affection,
growing with this nourishment.
May your passionate flowers blossom,
roses, violets, innumerable variations
upon the fresh green pastures of your heart
May grand sequoias touch the heavens.
May your forests flourish to time indefinite,
withstanding many storms and the test of time.
We will start a campfire
and reminisce about the years of growth.
Deep down, we are both assured
the forests will never stop growing.

I thought trees one,
time looked like ,
giant broccoli because-,
of their leafs that shoot
from their trunk after
reading Radical Mycol-
ology then I thought years ago when I was still mobile I thought trees, were related to fungi in the days,
of yore then I found fungi
helps trees grow when
looking the tallest trees
on earth,being red-
woods and giants,
sequoias finding
them to be thous-
and of years old
I started to see
trees as antenna
to the universe
receiving and
sending info
to the Cosmos,
then man be,
gan to chop
them all down,
Earth looks
bald.

Winter
Black cloud enshroud blue horizon while migrating birds tweet their last goodbye
Arctic winds weigh down bare naked branches watching blinding storms streak by
Above forsaken lodge tower sequoias like sentinels safeguarding an empty citadel
Hungry bison scrapes damp earth for green grass then uncovers a nourishing well
Immaculate summits shed kaleidoscopic colors pondering the splendor of next fall
Snowflake encrusted serpentine rivers inside the path of an imminent frigid squall
Taking agile steps shivering wolves defend lives at stake to outfox predacious gun
Aging leaves tumble toward battered ground envying the sky waiting for the sun

pines
fragrance
the woodland
with their rugged
air is crammed with a pungent aroma
Branches of redwoods arching to the skies
like the cleansed breath
Knotted stems
unspoiled
Grows.

I started off on this sequoia trail rather reluctantly
Not realizing how much these trees would give to me
There was a freshness to the air I cannot describe,
I was not with my people, no one of my tribe.
Yet as we walked, the outdoor God gave me a wink.
I was eager to let my emotions change to the pink.
I felt optimistic and alive for the first time in two years
Putting my inhibitions aside, I waylaid my unfounded fears.
This hike was exactly what I needed. Made me whole.
Gave me back my enthusiasm, nurtured my depressed soul.
I took another deep breath and realized I was smiling today.
It had been a long time for me, since the death of my Clay.
Another hiker gave me a smile and asked if she could walk,
Next to my side, for she wanted to listen and talk.
I started to say no, but the giant sequoias made me rethink.
So I said yes, and we had a terrific day; I made a soul-sister link.

Verd meadow yon shadowed sequoias,
Patterns has lent the scope neath the petals,
Pixies wake on the tips of true choices,
Heightens an ochered sun amidst voices,
Looms about a faint trace of pink mettles,
Verd meadow yon shadowed sequoias,
Tattered remnants of coral sprays joyous,
Whilst they'd be assets in blossom vessels,
Pixies wake on the tips of true choices,
Grooves a pass graced with nectarous noises,
Virtuous domain sprung through laced specials,
Verd meadow yon shadowed sequoias,
Noble claims dotes a wishing well deploys,
Nigh, not far they'd be for all our revels,
Pixies wake on the tips of true choices,
Submit the crush much, us the true toilers,
Sparkled dusk fades long lives of their fettles,
Verd meadow yon shadowed sequoias,
Pixies wake on the tips of true choices.

Birds chortle below the simple timber line
Warm winds can not protect them now
California is no place to be in the middle of a quake
Redwoods and sequoias sway, begin to understand
Collapse in on themselves on shaky grounds
Pacific waters hold a deep blue secret
A charm colder than the Atlantic winter storm
Still the waves rise to the size of mountains
Tsunamis know no boundaries once begun
Trees crack. Ships break with the day wide open
The sun becomes too heavy for the rising sky
Landslides on mud flows fill in the empty spaces
Innocent bystanders of an upside down world survive
Are not surprised when California leaves
Decides to make a new start out at sea

Each direction I turn,
each way I cast my eye,
giant Sequoias pierce the sky.
In the immensity
I dissolve, like raindrops
blend into an ocean,
not Euclidean points
in an infinite space,
but flesh to bark and leaf.
Alternate last line:
flesh to root, and bark, and leaf.

God equipped you to be that beacon in the thick of the storms-
For your light radiates from your soul at its appointed time.
The care in your eyes give peace to those in your presence-
The mighty sequoias are beneath your meek and small statue.
Frail yet precise arms possess the power to embrace the lost.
Mother..
Strength of your back raises those with no courage of their own-
Til your footsteps become weak and give way to the heavy load.
Yes, our Heavenly Fathers Grace and His Mercy both carried you-
You dear Mother are the fresh wind that blows in my new season.
When the thickness of despair almost takes my breath away.

"YOU CAN'T QUESTION HER"
you can't question her: the crow caws
when she wakes to fight the world.
she's vulnerable with a heart wrapped
in barbed wire,
walk in her country shoes,
you'll see the wear and tear is her life,
her country shoes are made of steel.
you can't question her: her arms swing.
her fists hit in defense,
her eyes are closed, teeth are shown,
she fights for more than truth.
you can't question her: her smile
is the guard of dreams.
her dreams dance and play
like children under the sun,
the fools laugh, judge and hate,
as her resilience weeds out the dead
spirited.
you can't question her: her fight
is the strength others carry,
her spirit is the standing of sequoias,
her purity is the snow on the first day of winter,
the crow caws when she wakes to fight the world.

Fly birds, fly.
Flap your wings in unison. Long strides gliding on each other's whispering breaths.
Create whirlwinds so powerful as if blown from the lips of the almighty God.
Like an army of ships departing into the vast void of mystery known as the sea.
Malicious waves taller than sequoias will threaten our very lives, but we must fight.
Alluring sirens with mesmerizing songs will draw each of us to the brink, yet we put faith in our inner strength to move forward in life.
As Disney once put it, when you wish upon a star it makes no difference who you are.
Believe and thou shall succeed.
Get ready to skydive out of the dark tree hole we all know, into something greater known as the unknown.
Tiring as it may seem now, it all pays off in the end.
Muscles will build over muscles greater. We can only get stronger with time.
Others around us may fall back to earth.
Help those around you, keep them from descending, but never forget to pick your own self up again.
Our flock will fly on to the Heavens and never cease to exist.
Believe and thou shall succeed.

shifting and swirling wind
biting cold
first light coming around the bend
illuminating each crevice and every fold
the kind of silence that makes a sound
lone bird on a branch
snow drifts by the pound
snow falling by happenstance
misty mountains revealed
herds slowly moving through the tree line
lit by the yawning morning sun shield
mountain mornings are one of a kind
trees coated in snow
all saplings and greenery lying doormat beneath the layers
not till' summer will they show
held in the clutches of winter's strong grip, quiet prayers
hips and spines hand crafted by the creator
silent, long since frozen creeks
views, there are none greater
lone, stalwart peaks
silent cathedrals of glistening light
grand columns amongst the cloud caps
granite faces of extraordinary might
white tipped tree caps
taciturn sequoias standing tall
guarding the valleys
and watching the glistening sprawl
among backwood alleys

Morning On The Mountain
Glowing cathedral spires of the gold mountain range
Rising with the sun above the reflective ice lake
Between deep green sequoias tops
Passed, and down below the pine needled path
Stretching on thin rust colored winding road to those still sleeping
This bundled feast that feeds the eyes and feelings
Greeting the morning explorers grasping
Waking, on the new dawned day
Yawning men with their warm breath turned instantly to mist
Lifting in a cloud of thick steam, as it passed their lips to speak
Frozen temperatures on their exposed encampment
Reminding them more cold is yet to come before they reach the summit
They were engineered to climb the mountain
It’s in their DNA
They climb it because it’s there
It is their living and their livelihood
The trees can only watch
And wish they could

If that’s what it takes
An ocean I will give
If kisses were water
Sequoias I will give
If hugs were trees
The Milky Way I will give
If you needed milk
All nine I will give
If you wanted a planet
A galaxy I will give
If you wanted a star
All that and more
I will give
If that’s what it takes
To bring Mari back
For she truly is missed by all
She is missed by me.
