Sequoias Made Me Rethink

I started off on this sequoia trail rather reluctantly Not realizing how much these trees would give to me There was a freshness to the air I cannot describe, I was not with my people, no one of my tribe. Yet as we walked, the outdoor God gave me a wink. I was eager to let my emotions change to the pink. I felt optimistic and alive for the first time in two years Putting my inhibitions aside, I waylaid my unfounded fears. This hike was exactly what I needed. Made me whole. Gave me back my enthusiasm, nurtured my depressed soul. I took another deep breath and realized I was smiling today. It had been a long time for me, since the death of my Clay. Another hiker gave me a smile and asked if she could walk, Next to my side, for she wanted to listen and talk. I started to say no, but the giant sequoias made me rethink. So I said yes, and we had a terrific day; I made a soul-sister link.
