For a long time, the old barn had quite a lean.
When you'd come around the bend, it was comforting to see it.
Blushing and shifting weight in the sunlight.
It was a great loss when it finally succumbed to gravity and time.
If it could speak, would it speak of great sacrifice
or hardship and good times.
Would it converse with antiques and machinery?
or the shadow of a barn cat and a long-retired tire swing.
The old farmer had quite a lean just before he passed.
Don't believe he ever got to retire.
He bounced up and down those dusty rows for half a century.
There was a lot of wisdom and a sprinkle of secrets in that lean...
A quiet ferocity coiled in those ancient-bronzed hands.
He lived through two world wars and fought in one.
He served- fed and cleaned up the messes of the elite.
He prayed over and buried everything that he loved....
The city slag still called him simple and backwards.
There is something noble about an old farmer.
Securing his gate at dusk.
In shadows veiled, secrets reside,
Whispered tales where darkness hides.
Beneath the flag's protective shield,
United States' most guarded field.
Cryptic codes locked in vaults deep,
Whispers echoed, secrets to keep.
Eyes that watch, ears that listen,
Guarding truths, the nation's mission.
Nuclear codes, a lethal dance,
Hidden plans, a covert stance.
Silent whispers of classified might,
Shielded by stars, veiled from sight.
Stealthy crafts, invisible flight,
Evasive maneuvers in dead of night.
Covert operations, unknown terrain,
Soldiers trained to bear the strain.
Dossiers marked "Top Secret" and sealed,
Strategic plots, yet to be revealed.
Unseen technologies, cutting-edge might,
The vanguard of defense, out of sight.
Within the fog, clandestine minds scheme,
Shielding the nation, like a patriot's dream.
In hallowed halls, guarded by trust,
Lie the secrets that safeguard, a nation's thrust.
Yet with solemn hearts, we must be aware,
That secrets wield power, with utmost care.
For in the balance of truth and deceit,
Lies the destiny of a nation complete.
When Enduring and Securing
While being attractive, she was so alluring;
When experiencing she had been enduring;
Now safe and sane so are securing.

To abide in God’s securing peace* is my utmost desire
Never impossible along my Saviour’s invitation-pleasure
He bids me to come freely by the faith He does require
Granting my soul sweet respite in His tranquility’s enclosure.
Blessed wondrously to be assured by His calmness-safety
Enabled am I to linger longer in communion partnership
Plunged in His love that subdues every trace of anxiety
My heart thanks the Lord for His gracious friendship.
*Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Securing your strengths
Encased deep inside
Lift every veil
Found in yourself
Accept all the extra
Cautioning panic
Treat it with trust
Understand the menu
Affirm the plea
Laugh off the dull
Invite the alumni
Zero in on the glitz
Act out each stanza
Triple the hunt
Ignore the anti
Option the bravado
Never give up again

Seventy-eight good years
when she went home many cried tears
of joy having left her mark in history
as a leader married to a leader
who believed in justice for all
after Dr. King passed on Coretta did what she could to cushion our fall
by being a woman who worked to make a nation whole
it was done with her heart mind soul
the klan deterred her not
this proven as time went by
through her dedication determination devotion her head held high
Mrs. King secured a legacy building her own
with her four children by her side
GOD our HEAVENLY FATHER welcomed her with arms opened wide
it was said "It's good to finally see her at peace"
believing this peace comes from above
on her tomb it ends with six words
"the greatest of these is love"
