I wrote a poem years ago.
The content alludes me and its theme.
I recall It was written in Innsbruck Austria.
I was writing it while I ordered a dry martini;
they brought me the whole damn bottle
together with a huge bill!
I was young and trying hard to be sophisticated,
my German may have confused the wait-staff.
I paid up
then took the bottle back to the hotel.
Now I was left with no money left to eat
and I really loved the Vienna schnitzel.
The poem was not about all this at all,
I just remember I was very hungry
and the martini did not help.

Eva Braun was a flexible kid,
Athletic, and puppy love loyal.
She played in the background, kept pampered and fed.
Frau Goebbels instructed her morals.
Eva Braun war ein sehr hübsches Mädchen
Who basked in the light of her Fuhrer.
She lapped up the Kool Ade and swallowed her guilt;
Never spoke to a Nuremburg juror.
Eva Braun was a practical girl
Who knew how to butter her schnitzel.
She silently offered her cyanide vows
While her bridegroom was kissing his pistol.

The days of
wine and rose's
enchanted pose's
I think of you
nothing added
nothing taken away
my thoughts follow you
wandering about
what's left from
the midst of your
melancholy mannerism
captured beyond
wholly adversity fallen
desperately on infamous
tangible chatter over
wiener schnitzel
sour dough bread
potato soup and
a crisp Riesling
over looking the
Bavarian alps mourning
Oktober hidden glances
broken chance's in this
moment we simply are
the very best of ourselves
we are noble willing
challengers on a voyage
beyond this ravished
wildlife mythical muse's
subtle faint hues filled
with yesterdays blues

A bright sunny azure blue sky above fills
Me with happiness and a leisurely drive into the Adelaide Hills
The Hahndorf Main Street full of shops
With soaps and hand made goods between the hops
A lunch of German fare of schnitzel or bratwurst with beer
All washed down in heartiness and cheer
Then to Melba’s chocolate factory for all you eat sweets
Or the Beerenberg farm for chutneys and jam so complete
Then fresh apples off the farm
And a sleepy trip home full of small town charm.

Some schnitzel sounds good
Have some wish I could
Maybe sneeze I now will.

The End of Poetry
I refuse, refuse to write anymore my head
is a winter turnip you can slice fry and pretend
it is schnitzel served with spinach and mashed
potatoes, all of them are veggies that refuse to
be eaten but have little choice but to surrender
at the motto of “Let us try this once more.”
Dreams are the last to go, she was sleeping and
dying woke up and said she had a funny dream
she told me about it delightful memories she
didn`t have a happy childhood and a pony,
touched my deeply. Two hours later she died in
the middle of another dream and stark reality
sat in a corner crying. Pallid faces took her away
as I repeated to myself, I refuse to believe what
have occurred, reality had lost its rudder.
I accepted the avoidable opened a door and was hit
by a storm full of spiteful and hateful thoughts,
but I refuse to write about that.

Ruben, The Teaser
I knew it was her when she entered the cafe
had seen her before in a fake painting behind
a bar in downtown New York this Rubenesque
a woman only this time she wore a short frock.
those thighs could so easily strangulate man,
and through her dress her nipples were big and
visible. She had a glow in her face of a woman
who had just made love or was going to
Forty years too old, a sigh and I concentrated on
the schnitzel I was eating with salad and no spuds.

Mr Wiener brags proficiency
As he twitters his constituency.
But badly, the hackage
of a bulky package
in his pants shows a deficiency.
*The Online Slang Dictionary says ‘schnitzel’ is, “Any unacceptable or unwanted
substance.” Example: “I’ve got schnitzel all over my shoe.”
