CHERNOBYL

ON TV hey say mothers are heroes and schizophrenics high
If birthing and bringing the child is so difficult
Remember the story of mine

You are standing legs in radioactive water
You know you life will soon end
But you are doing the job because you should because you can
Because you must
Because you have to

and tears drop from eyes of mine as I am telling story this

Premium MemberTwo By Two Equals Four

Oscar Levant, American Author, Comedian, Music Composer and more,
Was born in the early 20th Century and died in the 1970’s
Each decade, or era has their comedians – below is one of Mr Levant’s quotes,

TWO BY TWO EQUALS FOUR

A young couple Clorrita and Dwaine,
Decided to spend a holiday in Spain,
Both vegans, enjoyed a good radish,
But either neither nor, spoke Spanish.

They carried masks, heard of an Epidemic,
The Spanish Flu could become Pandemic,
They lived in Europe on inland terrain,
So decided they would travel by train.

They asked for a sleeper for four,
The ticket officer asked, “Why Senor”,
“Well, there is me and I, and she,
And my wife, so four we are you see”.

They had never thought or planned,
People could not understand,
When they went out to dine,
“A table for four please, will be fine”.

Eventually returned home, all so relieved,
Even Clorrita and Dwaine heaved,
A sigh, people don’t do simple maths anymore,
Schizophrenics are two by two equals four!

“ROSES ARE RED VIOLETS ARE BLUE, I’M SCHIZOPHRENIC AND SO AM I”
Fortunately, medicine has advanced incredibly since the 1970’s.

Premium MemberSchizophobia

Is there such a word as,
schizophobia,
and if so,
am I afraid of schizophrenics, nay,
for I fear of assuming its characteristics.

They will WRAP me like a mummy,
then CELL me in a padded room.

There is no escape from this,
for fear that I may lose my control.

Like my friends I once knew,
they left me all alone.

Oh no!

I am losing my mind,
how can I forewarn myself,
my friends!

Don't leave me with me!

Help us!

Don't WRAP me!

Don't CELL me!

Just give ME what WE want!

Sound

The spirituality of sound
of a gong
of a loon
the impossible grieving
of morning doves
the cracking of ice
the drone of urban streets
trucks rumbling
over wooden bridges
a cat’s purr

There’s a need to hold sound
to feel its pulsation
to see colors of sound
or to hear the sun mounting
the sky or
the bloodless and wicked
sound of lightning

Ah, the overflowing tapestry
of sounds
with their invisible force
or the unconscious sounds
of the dead
diffused and distant
or the meandering of echoes

the broadcast, the transmission
the longwinded sermons
the cry of a newborn
the utterance, the announcement
a city’s cacophony, the uproar
the dissonant chord
the rhetoric of schizophrenics
or Purple Passages of Deep Purple
psychedelic or progressive sounds

Om, a sound of guidance
the chant, the mantra, the moan
of orgasms, the gasp, the scream
the subtleness of whispers

Distorted Discourse

alcoholic actors age artificially
frustrated feminists fornicate fiendishly
clever cops cripple conspiracies
nervous nannies neglect nurseries
morbid ministers murder martyrs
jealous judges justify junkies
lazy lawyers liberate lunatics
paranoid pimps pacify prostitutes
emotional eccentrics execute evangelists
gullible gangsters glorify graveyards
horny hypocrites horrify humanists
impotent invalids inspire incest
scorned schizophrenics sabotage sanity
disgraced diplomats destroy democracy
tormented terrorists terminate treason
reformed revolutionaries regret redemption

A Love and Hate Story

I was learning, how
not to catch you.

Called the cloud
hugging a hillside.
Can you climb on the road ?
No , it said, I want to play with the moon.

So,
this was becoming,
without presence.
An epiphany ? No it was a crying
theme, discovery of the self.

When the tremors came,
you were flung like a doll,
opening the earth
one breath long.

Swallows were eyeing the sky.

•

The hollow tree
traps the light and sends out
the blue pupils of yellow eyes.

I am still counting the limbs
under the boulders.
The landmass was moving asking names.

The big vulture was watching
the end of the feast,
for schizophrenics.

A bomb hidden in turban will
kill a saint. You say I should
call for the girls.

Why don’t you wear the skullcap
to cover the beautiful mind
which will not kiss the fire ?

Hospital In the Himalayas

Morning has come
To this hamlet in the hills,
They have an internationally funded hospital
(Net of ‘inflation’ artistry in contractors’ bills).

Lady Macbeth, rinse your hands,
You will nurse in the hospital now.
The Companies have this experimental drug
For schizophrenics.
They want guinea pigs--
So go out on a marketing campaign,
Harvest schizophrenics.
Its like picking mushrooms from grassy slopes,
The poison ones to be sifted and chosen,
Only the poison ones.

Where better than this unmapped here?
Document the dementia,
(They were demented with hunger anyway),
Along with your Indian expert trained in Austria,
(Who is incidentally doctoring your bills
Eminent doctor that he is).

Frontiers of medicine will be tamed,
Do not count the dead
In this charge of the Light Brigade,
Suburban America does not want to know.
