Listen to poem:
Is there such a word as, schizophobia, and if so, am I afraid of schizophrenics, nay, for I fear of assuming its characteristics. They will WRAP me like a mummy, then CELL me in a padded room. There is no escape from this, for fear that I may lose my control. Like my friends I once knew, they left me all alone. Oh no! I am losing my mind, how can I forewarn myself, my friends! Don't leave me with me! Help us! Don't WRAP me! Don't CELL me! Just give ME what WE want! 2020 January 15 POLARITIES AND PARADOXES Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Line Gauthier

so he was able to live a fairly normal life, and died in his late 80's. There is hope for many of them but I think it depends on the severity of it. Sorry to go on. I saw the title and it perked my interest. My mom had four daughters by my dad and we each had 25% chance to get the gene. Luckily we all missed it!!

Wow, an interesting, enlightening, and sad episode to have experienced as I had with my former college roommate and friend that ended tragically, but a good conclusion for you and your family. I appreciate your share~Aloha always~@wk

a very interesting one with those puns!! I have not read her rules yet but now I can kind of sense what her contest is about! my dad was a schizophrenic. Technically, it means "withdraw from reality" but wow, they hear and see stuff not even there!! In the 50's and 60's they only had electric shock therapy. Barbarous. My dad used pills after that, which helped, but mom says he was never the same as when she first met him. I did not get to grow up with him. He died at a good old age last year!

Hello William Kelkaula, well done. I knew someone that has this illness. I was scared of the person. Yet stayed in the room and i chatted with the person. Until it was time to leave.Have a nice day my friend.

Nice write William, there should be a word to describe fear of schizophrenics, I've learned to deal with it from personal experience, sadly I know more than a few afflicted, they are still great people we just need empathy. The problem is sometimes they don't want their meds, that's when the troubles start!

Sadly at 16 yrs old, my first college roommate suffered from this, visited him in the asylum/hospital (here on my island we are ill-equipped for an actual facility, but it addresses the families nearby) sometime later he dropped out and took his own life shortly after at his home at age 20-Thanks!~@wk
