Premium Member old age blues

It is a dreary day and my feet don’t work
I sit alone feeling like a kind of jerk
when young I could have run circles around them
Now I sit on a bench with an old guy named Jim
the energy I used to have is a mystery, long gone
saying old age is great is a strange saying, a con

Premium Member I Thought She Was Kidding

My mother had the energy of a five-ring circus
She refused to walk with slow people
unless they let her run circles around them while she walked

She kept her cancer a secret none of us kids knew.
My sister called and said Mom went by ambulance to a hospital.
I drove four hours to visit her, and they were sending her home.

She woke up long enough to say, “why are YOU here?”
They insisted on bringing her to my truck in a wheelchair.
I thought this was silly.

This is a woman who can run laps around a truck while it’s moving.
Is what I still thought.
When we got to her apartment building she handed me her keys.
She said, “Go down the hallway and get the wheelchair.”

I thought she was kidding, so I laughed.
Then I felt small.
She meant it.

I got the wheelchair and manuevered her to her apartment.
It was the last day she would be there.
The next two months she spent in hospitals or a nursing home.

The last day I saw her was her last day on Earth.
I began praying God would take her home.
She was tucked into her bed in heaven by angels that night.
Cancer is a disease I would not wish on anyone.

Premium Member Do Not Take Health For Granted

I used to run circles around other people.
Seventeen years ago I lost weight and was buff.
I had muscles in my legs.
I had energy attached to my energy.

Since that time I tore my meniscus and ACL.
I bruised a bone in my leg.
Developed arthritis in both ankles.

I am no longer running circles.
I have gained weight.
I barely remember what being buff felt like.

Seventeen years has changed me in many ways.
Health is everything. D
o not take it for granted.
Enjoy every good day.
Do what you can while you can.

Right Before

Right before my sleep awakens me in another world
My wishes are to dream of him, that "he" that I do not know
and have not met yet.
The one who will love me with a look
And melt me with a stare
The one who will take me around the world with one kiss
And the one that will make me fall into his own abyss
Right before I close my eyes
I make a wish to dream of him, The him that I do not know
But want so much to meet
The him that will unpredictable to my heart
The one that will serenade my mind
And run circles around me while standing still
Where is he I wonder
Why has he taken so long to appear before me
If in my dreams he is
Then in my dreams I will stay until
I find him one day

Run Rings Around

R-un rings around,
O-vercome the devil decisively;
S-how marked superiority,
E-ver strong is the Almighty.
N-o retreat, no surrender,
D-ay thirty-first of May;
O-verwhelmingly we'll win over our faith's foe all the way.

G-o run circles around,
A-bound in hope, love and trust;
H-ave or possess courage,
U-ndaunted heart is a
M-ust.

J-ust pray to the Lord God, our enemy we'll dumbfound;
R-ock, shock and surprise him, let's run rings around.

Pagan Rebirth

Broken fingers clutch at the withered grass.
Crawling from the ooze, the future holds no value.
Leaving in the depths, laying forgotten, a dark past.
Wizards bow to the faithful moons that bring reason to their existence.
Expecting soft words to stir the planets
directly over the path less taken or trodden
Or beaten down from the cruel ages of the earth
That once existed in the memories of small imaginations.
Forever dance the rain, shaman, moon men,
Beating drum skins taught across magical tree stumps.
Monotonous tones carried on the back of far sighted locusts
Seeking shelter under bruised wrists,
Blue and purple flowers on thin scrawny stems.
Quiver in the night at the gentle shove of a jungle wind.
A wind that whispers curses of the snake.
Yet peace remains hidden under the rock of fear and doubt.
Run circles around licking, antigravity flames stoked by magic and the blood of horned beasts.

Vibration

what you've thought and done in your mind,
has already in your heart been done,
this just doesn't apply to sin,
this also applies in love,
the world can bound you hand and foot to stop your physical move,
but in your heart is where home resides, while faith and love ask you to move,
the world can run circles around you, while in your heart you see,
the love that God has given you in faith to intercede,
this is faith believing in love,
the seed you plant that moves,
without lifting your finger, but with lifting your heart,
in the vibration that shook the whole room

A Couple Hours of My Night

in the dark i can be mself,in the dark all my fantasies come true the ones i'm scared to share.
in the dark i'm alone and not afraid of people starring,in the dark it is quiet yet i know i'm still
alive.
some fear being alone but the echo of my heartbeat surrounds my room, nothing in that
moment makes me scared.
when i'm around a crowd of people in the light of day,i tense up immediatly and know not
what to say.
in the dark i'm beautiful and free,no matter what they say.
in the dark my world is pretty and i'm not judged for being gay.
in the dark i run circles around you despite the games you play.
in the dark im a genius who achieves all her dreams.
in the dark i'm a star way up in the sky.
in the dark you never hurt me and destroyed my sanity.
in the dark my mind goes free which allows me to analize me!
