your face is the map of Ireland
she looked over at a Marlboro man of the sixties
ruggedly handsome
he said nothing else
but his smile gave her goosebumps
it was slow and intelligent
she slid her purse two seats down
to get a better look at him
his face was more handsome up close
his eyes were light blue, and dazzled
she knew she could fall in love with this guy
and she did

I wake up at 5:30 most mornings
Before the sun has a chance to rise
Head for the bathroom as fast as I can
To get rid of yesterday's Mai Tai
I let out a great big sigh of relief
As I wipe the gunk from my peepers
Stand in front of a full length mirror
Like Tarzan, in my trap door sleepers
I sure am ruggedly handsome, methinks
Could even grace the cover of GQ
That's if they publish a special edition
For overweight, balding yahoos
Maybe I'm being too hard on myself
I've still got a surprise up my sleeve
Like running a mile in two hours flat
Great feat for old guys to achieve
Here's the crux of the matter my friends
It's something I sadly must share
Try all your life to take care of yourself
You'll still wind up old with no hair

Upon this rock, was my fate etched
By the hands of Akooke Olemo.
I lingered on her laps like mummy’s boy,
Though my own blood at me, distantly beckoned.
Her Martian hand nurtured and nourished me,
And made me dance to the Luo drumbeats;
Singing sweet songs in tongues, tongues of discord;
Music that ruggedly rutted the faces of my kinsmen!
Then our native drums sounded a call,
A call to a wayward son of the soil,
An invitation long awaited,
A time for initiation into the ways of Ateker.
And to the cadence of Atenus beats, my feet did rebel.
Now, to my motherly rock, I must return;
For in her rough rugged back,
Was my dismally dark destiny scribbled:
“Emoit.”

Rulers of metal skein
ruggedly replacing
real life hands on humans
routine chore press button
rust buckets rule ok
robots wild cat melees
ring fence their creators!
Created 16th April 2021
NB Robots can be amazing devices and their potential for change is respected by me. I’m not anti-robot. But they must be subject to controls

A fictional account as told
from a woman's perspective
Well, croak me ...
I just got kissed by a frog
Some gangly man,
looking like Lincoln, Abraham ...
an untanned man I didn't even know,
seems he hit the Lotto
I was standing next to him when he found out,
and the ghost-faced man turned and impulsively kissed me
Which surprised me completely
After that kiss though, he looked strangely different:
he appeared to be taller, even ruggedly handsome,
with skin that now had a radiant glow
It's funny how money can change a person instantly
from a frog into a prince
It's weird and wonderful that's for sure ---
Seeing someone reach the land of the rich,
by leaping from the pond of the poor

Believe
Often in life a person does strife
And unknown to others you really can do
In some cases a man needs a wife
Who can work as hard as him to.
The hills straight ahead
May not be ruggedly dead
For often in life, life’s purpose
Can be steadfastly strenuous.
If you have the courage
Do not falter, for in life
You can be well nourished
Hold fast to your dreams.
Your dreams may come true
Your strength will lead
To greater accomplishments
Just learn to believe
And great things will come to you.

Now here's a lesson, so listen up good
To this fatherly advice that I share
Take care of yourself or you'll wind up
As a old guy without any hair

The things you crushed
Your lips upon
The kiss that was there
To never exist
I’ll see you in Paris
I’ll look beyond the mist
Days have passed and moved alone
And it seems you have grown into
The simple thoughts
That bring about home
I’ll see you in Berlin
I’ll see you in Rome
Sunday clouds
Wish upon Saturdays
And I suppose you could say
I rely on you, as you rely on me
I’ll see you in Germany
Burgundy, the walls, I look upon so ruggedly
My shoulders won’t fold
The warmth that I hold
Hope will not come
But I’ll be there, here and from
I’ll see you in London
I’ll see you in the mirror before me
Up and down these alleys
Don’t forget to run
I know you think you’re a loner
And you probably can’t take it much longer
I’ll see you in California
I’ll take you back to days of Macedonia
