Rudderless Poems - Poems about Rudderless

Rudderless

A torrent of thoughts
swirls in my mind,
I channel them through
the tip of my quill and
tether them on a sheaf of papers.

There’s a plateau in my heart,
sizzling hot like bacon on a skillet
where a scoop of ice-cream melts
like the sweat of my brow
shimmering like the mirage
in a hostile desert.

Like the vast expanse of an arid

Your flesh was never warmer to my passion(quote)

My passion was more than you could have deal with

I am not gifted, I am black, however I am motivated by words,

I have never found them too difficult to string together,

whirlwind.
brain matter
compressed,
with rushing
winds,
my breath -
desert parched.
if only the
lightening
would stop
my beating heart -

the broken sob of
pain, unending
screams of thunder.

Rudderless

Little drops of tears in my eyes well up

I pull myself closer, trying to roll into a ball
And build between me and the world, my little wall

Everyone goes by, doing their mundane tasks
About my troubles no one cares, nobody asks
I lay there trying to make sense
