THE RIPPLED EFFECT
A doctor's failure lies in the grave,
A life lost, a soul from the cradle to crave.
A teacher's failure roams the street,
Uneducated minds, a future incomplete.
A lawyer's failure behind bars, rots in jail,
Injustice solely served, a life set to fail.
An engineer's failure crumbles to the ground,
Collapsed dreams, a structure unbound.
A chef's failure tastes bitter and bland,
A meal rejected breeds a hungry hand.
An artist's failure hangs on the wall,
A creation flawed, a vision to enthrall.
A leader's failure leaves a nation cold,
A people lost, frustrated & a future to mold.
A parent's failure echoes through time,
A child's regret, a heart that's not aligned.

I remember in her eyes the color of Christmas day
and the taste of melted butter in the early morning sun
The cadence of her voice the undertone sounds
of her silences, it was long ago
She was a matriarchal mountain of energy back in days
when her hair was red and her cheeks were pummeled pink
Decadent cakes for Christ's birthday, accompanied by her own
we ate cheerfully with eyes aglow
Then in the eve of midnight we unwrapped
secrets of her hand me downs, a knitted family tree
prepping up our dreams we slept without the know
that Christmases of future, would hold no mistletoe
I remember her eyes , two melting Chocolates
and her laughter, rippled layers of agate.

On bird’s wings spring flies
In silent waves air splits
On your eye-lids memory ripples.

Fold me in half
I’ve lost my backbone
In this old photograph
I’m carved in stone
A drop in the ocean
Black ink broke the surf
To write a poetry potion
A rippled calligraph

Don't wake me from the dream, if this is a dream
Throne we shall sit, when we celebrate life after scar
Alone in my sanity more or less drives me crazy
Drone of the dark life has sunk me too far
Let me dwell and safe in your arm
Set me free from the bondage of tangled chain
Vignette of this might be fragile or blur
Yet we have survived beneath the pouring rain
Note: First attempt in "Lento form"
A poetic form created by Lencio Dominic Rodrigues, the Lento is named after it's creator, taken from his first name Lencio and rhymed to Cento, an existing form of poetry.
A Lento consists of two quatrains with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe as the second and forth lines of each stanza must rhyme. The fun part of this poem is thrown in here as all the FIRST words of each verse should rhyme. There is no fixed syllable structure to the Lento, but keeping a good, flowing rhythm is recommended. Feel free to try! :D

Ripples in stagnant pond
as circles of light
is absorbed by fern and frond
and as wave-lets are put to flight.
Ripples in stagnant pond
no escaping the boundaries set
as radiance reflects upon
where creation entrapment walls are met.
Ripples in stagnant pond
as thoughts enmeshed
and extending beyond
to it's outer wall to be dashed.
Ripples in stagnant pond
wanting itself to free
from it's murky bond
to stream and river in glee.
