Premium Member Ode To Marmite

I like to start each day off right
With buttered toast and marmite
A vegetable extract that you spread
Across the surface of your bread.

So what’s in it, what does it contain?
Well thiamin, niacin and riboflavin
With B twelve vitamins and folic acid
The details you'll find on its yellow lid.

Also contains barley; wheats, oats and rye
Love it or hate you've just got to try
There are mores uses apart from toast
Like on potatoes with your sunday roast.

Or on crackers with your favourite cheese
I guarantee your taste buds you'll please
And maybe you like stew in cold weather
Add some marmite and it will taste better.

Or a tasty hot drink that'll keep out the cold
A strong savoury taste; it's pure black gold
There's much goodness in one small jar
But do use it sparingly and it will go far.

So the next time that you go out to shop
Look for a black jar with a bright yellow top
After your first taste you'll want more
You'll wonder why you didn't try it before.

So there you have it I have you told
Its pure treasure, delicious black gold.

So next time that you go out to shop

You won’t be disappointed I’ll guarantee
I don’t own any shares no need to thank me.

Premium Member Got Milk, Got Nutrients

Dairy foods are excellent sources of calcium

Phosphorus: This is an important mineral in bones, teeth and a part of every cell in the body

Riboflavin: This vitamin supports normal vision and healthy skin. It’s important to the production of energy in your body

Protein: This nutrient builds and repairs body tissues

Magnesium: This mineral is important in building healthy bones and teeth. It’s also
important in muscle contractions and nerve impulses

vitamin A: This is an important vitamin in maintaining healthy eyes and skin. It is also important in bone and tooth growth

Vitamin B6: This vitamin helps make red blood cells and helps build proteins in your body

Vitamin b12: This vitamin prevents anemia and helps maintain healthy nerve cells

Vitamin D: This vitamin helps maintain calcium and phosphorus for healthy bones. Milk provides appreciable amounts of vitamin D

If you were paying attention, you may have noticed calcium missing from that list. That’s because the following poem is devoted to the benefits of calcium (and what happens to your body if you don’t get enough of it)

Ingredients

i prepared a simple supper
but with great love i cooked
that main meat of refined wheat
durum semolina, traded as rotini

an Italian pasta to go with beef, a grace
from a Canadian cow grazed in prairie grass,
spiced with herbs from the hunted tropics:
ginger, garlic, turmeric, and coriander

powdered, with red pepper powder
and red pepper crushed, black pepper
(also powdered), added to the onion
chopped, fennel, fenugreek, and cumin

(all seeds), and the magical mustard,
adding leaves chopped: basil, chives
and parsley, with garam masala, a Bharat
special, sprinkled with hardly a pinch of salt

before adding the slow-cooked African beans
and Mexican sauce: chopped and crushed tomato,
and boiled potato, after being sautéed
in the US canola oil to enhance the taste

of minerals and more already in my pan:
folate, iron, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine
already mixed in carbohydrate, the main
with Chinese additives: citric, soy, and seasonings

unlisted; likewise the two sealed cans
that curtailed my sprinkling salt for supper
came with corn starch, sugar, more spices
and blackstrap molasses, and a poetic muse
