The Thief In the Night

THE THIEF IN THE NIGHT

When the desert sun melted away
The armour I wore for protection,
Leaving me free to find my oasis
Of unalloyed pleasure, offered
Without stultifying conditions,

I no longer looked back, anxious
Of retaliatory strike on my spirit,
And in that momentary flash, knew
There would be no comeback
From any hypocritical source
Of self-righteousness.

Needing no filter through which to view
What's plain in sight, I stripped away
The false image of a broken promise
And clothing myself with the clear vibrancy
Of unadulterated love,
Found that peace, like a thief in the night,
Had entered the inner core of who I was.

Lateness To School

In the wee hours,
When the wish hours of sleep flowers,
To computer games still sticking
And one’s satisfied lips licking;
A still irrepressible interest in understanding a movie
Or memorizing the lyrics of an American groovy
To the end follow a longish Italian Mafia
Or faithfully sum up the untouchable truths of Radio Biafra:
A normal persons destined inability to short- change Nature,
Retaliatory sleep’s readiness to bed-chain the Cheating Creature,
Until the long and short hands of the clock have described 800AM
Or over bounded to a a farther –flung AM!

Some kids to their schools surface late,
Because of a morning overcrowded with chores
And an instruction, very stiff, very straight
To further complete the cleaning of mummy’s stores:
Sometimes, a school child’s dramatic remembrance of an orange tree
And his wanting to first fill his satchel with what is luckily free.

Lateness to school
Not to be always pushed to a fool.

If you can keep your health when all about
Are losing theirs as ours
and blaming separately sick on you,

If you can trust ourselves when all species doubt
And reintegrate healthy green doubting too;

If you can act and not be red and tired
from over acting
And being lied about, don't invest in retaliatory fake,
And becoming hated,
give active way to loving,
And yet don't smell too wealthy,
nor walk too SuperElite wise...

If you can walk with crowds to feed our therapeutic virtues,
And speak with polypathic Gods--nor win the losing touch,

If both foes and family can desert you,

If all Tribes count with you
and yet not ego-monoculturally much;

If you can refill each uninvested moment
with sixty second's wealth of health well run,

Yours is Earth
and every Tribe healed in Her,
And--eco-theo-logically more--
we'll be a Therapeutic AnimaSoul,
ZeroZone for healing WinLose
patriarchal
LeftBrain over-heated
over-crowded inmates!

Long Pausing Nightfall

Something in piercing stillness,

its shrill voice fracturing light

sharing spaces quietude

mid-escape stark absolutes'

ever-present thenceforth...\

haunting dreams

upon long pausing nightfall,

wisps of darkly transcending

reminders constant 'tween breaths

shattering realities' reproach

buried deep within unresolved hearts,

dense air filled of shudders

no earthly sighs uttered,

merely kaleidoscopic tears

cascading obscure eyes

wailing 'pon tepid winds,

untoward thrashing of

ageless moon's mourning,

crucial silent echoes' boasting

otherworldly dimension's shadowed

speech sans heartbeat,

flailing after the fact 'neath

ghostly retribution's apologies,

kneeling in retaliatory ashes

In the Darkest Hour

Orchestrated plots from the birth of corruption
Meticulously cunning, blue print semantics
Shadows overriding sheer manipulation
Much more to its sleeves, sly gimmickry and antics

Overlapping smokescreen piling up to its feet
Diversionary tactics, garden variety
Principles dropped, conceded an utter defeat
Distraction thirsts for blood, hounds for the killing spree

When darkness overcomes the illumination
Claiming a population, an epidemic
By the hundreds on process of elimination
Resistance is futile to such obvious logic

Retaliatory, uprising insurgence
The masses’ response with strings attached
Casted under a spell, hypnotic indolence
A fearsome adversary, no other can match

Time’s in fast changing pace, turning the wheels of fate
Right up into the very heart of society
An impending apocalypse spearheading straight
The core that dictates man’s unending enmity

Retaliatory Repercussions
                         by Sean Kelly

A young fertile mother begat
Triplets, called Tim, Tom and Tat
Great fun at breeding
Confusion at feeding
When she found there was no tit-for-tat
( Chosen because it made me laugh..Sean always does...)

Tubby Triplet Trouble

The triplets became very fat
Except for the one called Tat
He became very slim
"Cause he went to the gym
Tim and Tom thought him a brat

The fat ones started to cry
Thought about giving up pie
When Tat found a girl
And gave her a whirl
Their cravings started to die

Slow Down

Pause,
slow down,
graduate,
roll back,
you steps,
thoughts,
acts,
from,
thoughtless,
hasty,
and,
retaliatory,
plane,
as you pause,
think more,
what these,
might have,
in store.
