Albert Einstein was an interesting guy,
Indisputably smart and reputedly shy.
His legacy's statistical,
But had he been more egotistical,
Instead of E=mc2, he might have called his theory "Me, myself, and pi".

Shimmering shadows across the meadow trail
Dancing in the afternoon sun, glancing fondly
Toward the woodland coolness so invitingly,
Beckoning me to stroll beneath the canopy
Of overhanging branches hovering protectively
Like mothering arms holding the distraught.
A place to find one’s peace midst the enfolding
Vicissitudes of complex living, such as it is,
In these difficult, compelling times we share
Unable to discern principled directions clearly
While seeking what we feel we have earned,
Our fondest endeavors often reputedly lacking.
Shimmering shadows, ephemeral, as real as light,
Which we cannot take into outstretched hands
The branches swaying in a filtered breeze
Whispering consoling sighs, while suggesting
New imaginings, new lyrics set to new tunes
Bring fresh ways of thinking to mother’s child.

'Tis noted that some media at times express divisive and jaundiced views!
Hence, such inane twaddle has reputedly become known as fake gnus!
(Written with considerable tongue in cheek and with profuse apologies
to the innocent African antelope known as a gnu!)

SANTA, OR JESUS
While talking with a niece of mine
She spoke of Santa Claus
And then she spoke of Jesus
Then sat in a lengthy pause
If you believe in Santa Claus
That's okay with me
But Santa Claus didn't die for us
Hanging on a cruel tree
Santa's nice to have around
He's jolly as can be
He reputedly comes once a year
And leaves presents 'neath the tree
Well, that is mighty kind of him
A miracle, in a way
But the only time that happens
Is once in every year
But Jesus Christ is with you
Every day, my dear
She pondered this then said to me
I want Jesus too
I asked her why and she replied
Because He died for me
Hanging on a cruel cross
Fashioned from a tree

THE BALLAD OF MA POSSUM
Roofing like a penthouse floor,
Tis not a haunt but Ma's snore.
A wombatic possum in appearance,
Being nature's pinup is her arrogance.
Her distintictive, brush, bob tail, loss,
reputedly, respected as the boss poss.
Hearing her grunt and fight,
echoing a freaky still night fright.
Oh!, nightlife beware,
if Ma is anywhere.
trees n eyes in the wood
is part of Ma's family hood.
Scratchings at the door,
signals to eat, until no more,
Possum busters have done their best,
But Ma thinks, tis a game and quest.
With her teeth and claws,
makes furnishings with any trapddors.
Characterise, personalise or humanise,
big booted, smudged lipstick and pearl,
smokin cigars, no sweet little girl,
tough and ready to roll,
she aint no possum doll.
A pet possum sage,
outliving the legends of her long age.
