Santa, Or Jesus
SANTA, OR JESUS
While talking with a niece of mine
She spoke of Santa Claus
And then she spoke of Jesus
Then sat in a lengthy pause
If you believe in Santa Claus
That's okay with me
But Santa Claus didn't die for us
Hanging on a cruel tree
Santa's nice to have around
He's jolly as can be
He reputedly comes once a year
And leaves presents 'neath the tree
Well, that is mighty kind of him
A miracle, in a way
But the only time that happens
Is once in every year
But Jesus Christ is with you
Every day, my dear
She pondered this then said to me
I want Jesus too
I asked her why and she replied
Because He died for me
Hanging on a cruel cross
Fashioned from a tree
