Remonstrating Poems | Examples

Front On

"Front On"

I am in your thoughts
night and day
you try to dismiss me
but there I stay
like a tap dripping
all night

and when you’re in
the shower of your
remonstrating psyche
comes the morning
when you break the wake
the water caresses you

and there I am again

with your back to the wall

front on

running late

(LadyLabyrinth / 2023)

"I'm a Shaman in your arms
Shaman in your arms
Where all the world is healed
The sleeping finally feel
Like I can stop the floods
The burning of the fields
I am your holy shield
The truth will soon reveal ..."

Yawning Year's Yucks

rusty year remonstrating
saline liquid scrunching
mild moans sighing
felon fate vying
peremptory peers tuning
sacred sorrow plotting

mild went wild
fate feign smile
past pulsing bile

lusty limbs lurching
la-de-da luck lustrating
lanky life leering

yawning year's yucks!
nocturnal new's numb.

Gollible Green

gollible Green gulping
rustic rays reeling
salient south smirking
purpled eyes pouting
dismembered rays dancing
callous contractions cupping

fallible fate fostering
per rays contracting
into green garlic

raped red remonstrating
fetish finger pointing
la-de-da luck lurching

though twain be!
One's is our tree!

Sundry Rules X

Begging for help
Is better than slaving for help:
A poor poet with a gold heart, begs for help.
But a beggar on the remonstrating street, slaves for help.

Spring Garden

I can feel spring is in the air today.
I hear my garden remonstrating me.
Please come out here and clear these leaves away.
Bulbs are beginning to bud, come and see.
Rose bushes need pruned, the trestle is falling.
"Wake up! Get moving!" the garden's calling.

The Saviour

Now that he is your saviour
The President, the Governor, and the Cauncillor
Who would save your country from corruption and war
He is indeed president of the poor
Or governor of the poor
Or councilor of the poor
For he understands situation of the poor
Moreover, he is once poor

Now that you have voted for him and won
And within your mind he is the only one
That could set your country free from evil deeds
Forget God is the only good
No wonder He gives man no rest
For HE alone is the final rest
Knowing they rest mind and seek peace
From creature like them and neglect Him, the true peace

Now this is his second seat
Remonstrating, no good has come, but discomfort
Know that
Man does his best
And leaves the rest
He alone is able to do all we want
Why not look up to Him and pray
YOU are the SAVIOUR, shout, and say

Drawing Lines

Sometimes people live too close to one another
with the scent of lives overlapping lines
psyches stepping on toes and
problems bleeding in through doors & windows.

Neighbors crying, remonstrating, manipulating, and copulating
demonstrating the need for soundproofing or renovating
as we wave the next day our smiles ingratiating
because its at their expense our needs we’ve been satiating

and the building goes on.

Some stress “urban sprawl” others cry “urban blight.”
Yet developers rub hands with piggish delight
Smart animals follow the birds, which take flight
and poor confused deer become targets at night.

Yet the building goes on.

Big boxes, small boxes, strip malls and stores,
McDonalds, and Wendy’s, and Bed Bath and More
Family Dollars and State Liquor Stores
Pawn Shops and Nail Shops and

and . . .

when trees are memories
fish bellies rise like steam from warm waters
and desertification has become "the new black."
Perhaps then we will draw a line in the sand.

Christmas At Sea

Christmas at Sea.

Once I was kicked by a mule, as I was remonstrating,
a dog interfered and bit my ankle. There is something
deeply embarrassing to lose arguments to animals.
Guayaquil, Colombia, I hadn´t gone ashore for fun but to
buy food stuff for the crew. Since it was a few days before
Christmas and even our Moslems crew liked something
extra. It is difficult to get into the festive mood when it is
hot and I had been bitten and kicked, Jesus was born in
a barn which is a good place to be a cold winter night as
animals exude good warmth. I marvel of the nativities of
Joseph, a finer man than me; a person unsung through
times. Chicken for Christmas, not pork, in every mess
hall there were a coloured trees, since the Islamists do not
drink there was peace on earth; I forgave the mule and
the bloody, yellow monster of a dog. And silently the old
tramper ploughed the sea on her way to Jamaica, where
the seaman´s priest would invite us Christians to sing
psalms and hand out little presents of socks and gloves
knitted by kind ladies back in Norway.
