Rumbles roar
Waterfall's bellows pitch
Misty spray sprinkles rocks quinces thirst

Soft moist moss
Springs forth upon hard rock
Constant moisture encourages growth

Yell water
Rush, reverberate
Crash, clamor upon solid firm stone

Fresh clean air
Scented with spring flowers
Crisp lavender spices' bouquet untouched

Sleepy mid-afternoon
Even the cat takes naps;
Brown dog with dreams unknown

Hot favourite soft buns
Crowded lunch queue waiting;
Each bagging takeaway

Curry mixed rice vendor
Extra helping of meat;
Hungry customers queue

Assorted cakes await
Gourmet cake shop delights;
Tarts, quinces, and pastries

Curry puff specialty
Old uncle bakes finesse;
Ample stocks sold out

Fruits galore by wayside
Stall with long history;
Third-generation here

Busy supermart chain
Queue after queue winding;
Cash registers attend

Local dessert menu
All sorts of sweet foods tempt;
Try the peach tidal wave!

Yam paste ginko dessert
Delicious mouthful swirled;
A heavenly delight

Turkey sandwich meal pack
Ready-to-go cookies;
American Subway

Fast food restaurants here
Make many meals easy;
We tend to eat too much

Family treat right here
At the shopping arcade;
Easy delicacies found

So much food to pleasure
The discerning palate;
See so many obese

So many eateries
Spoilt for choice picky we:
Follow fickle fancies

Gastronomic ecstasy
So much to pick and choose;
Discerning taste buds judge

Premium MemberA Writing, a Spouses Tale

I called to the four winds in my desperate hours.
Her songs came to me through the evening breeze,
it was songs sweet and hopeful.
I knew in the depths of my soul, love...
would climb the mountains standing afore us.
For we, humans, know the bitter taste of pain
and the sweet drink of hope.
We are... of the flesh and the spirit.
It is within us to soar with eagles,
and run among the creatures of the forest.
We are free, we are love, we are one.
We are the flowing river that quinces thirst.
Now, in even the coldest of nights,
a soft warmth blankets our hearts.
For it is with our very hearts that this world turns,
and the sun shines, and the moon glows.
It is our tale of a life lived well and complete.
For it is a tale of we.

The Gardener

Lily, jasmine and roses
Tulips, carnations and daffodils
He adores and chooses
Cosmos, zinnia and daisies

His hands paintbrush of nature
His eyes tasters of beauty
He turns seeds in flower
His caring hands have power

Flowers are his babies
He nurtures and nurses
Liatris, orchids and quinces
Just like Prince and Princes

Springs come to treat him
The clouds stay to greet him
The breeze blows to meet him
None other to compete him

Sight of a withering larkspur
Anguish cuts him deeper
Seeing a lisianthus blowing
A profound delight bestowing

He places the Divine paintings
In splendid frame of garden
To meet the earth’s yearnings
His prolific hands are chosen

A Celestial color sprayer
The job he does is a prayer

Haiku Calendar

Haiku Calendar
(January to December in the Southern part of the U.S.A.)

snow and more snow falls
cold wind and more cold wind blows
all branches are bare

starving and weak birds
a chill grips before sunrise
fall from bare branches

warm afternoon wind
thin morning ice melts on pond
a song bird is heard

poppies hide in grass
drink from early morning showers
bees drink from open buds

warm ruffles new weeds
clover covers budding ground
crickets find their song

hawk hunts small rabbit
green hedges give good cover
blood drips on clover

sun waves off dark soil
flowers grow only in shade
bees hive drips sweet wax

in shade cow chews cud
waits for dark to find water
sleeps on top of mound

east winds pull cool rain
quinces bright hill flowers thirst
streams roar then fall quite

squirrel hides acorn
digs hole at foot of oak tree
barks at gray wet sky

leaf fall from elm tree
vacant bird nest are exposed
geese sound over head

deer move over trail
fawns loose baby spots and jump
graze on holly leafs
