Querying Poems | Examples

2:55

Five vials of hope before 2:55,
An epinephrine Saturday feast
After midday, preventing time to arrive
Again, to stall the curse at least.

The single drop of tear tells it all,
I guess I've seen it coming.
And it did, but very stealthily, the fall
Disguised in serene eyes staring.

Broken voices of 2:55 and hence
A glass of water, a pat on the shoulder,
Paper works, the waiting, querying the sense
Reduced to an atheist's prayer.

The chaos ceased, all quiet on the front.
The war is lost; not a dream did survive.
Life is a poem that is so blunt,
All gone, after midday at 2:55.

Premium MemberCelestial Poet

Exploring nothing.
Empty space.
Being filled by words of no meaning
Just a wandering pen beautifully completing the emptiness
Spilling from a querying heart
A wandering mind
Full of seagulls and tinkling bells
Next to the crashing waves of foamy thought..
Lapping slowly onto the mind
In the present moment

What is next?
As the moon pulls back the ownership of gravity
Like a bedsheet or a duvet covering the naked Earth
How the moon shelters the tender ocean
From the cold of the nighttime sky..
Blanket of love and warmth
You have sheltered me since our birth
And now, we breathe together
Tangible harmony
Slavish synergy
Locking our existence in the outer
But reaching into the inner
Rhythm of our presence
In this celestial celebration dance

You boast, saying:
All good happened
Happened
Because of you...
I test you, querying:
Have
All good happened
Gladdened you?

Keeping Up With Society

How does an old man as old as me
Keep up with the changes in society

Men can be women, old men can be girls
Pronouns can be mx or they, or hers

Abortion is healthcare through faces proud
Is said by the bearer who echoes the crowd

The word “marriage” has changed from the ancients
Is nothing pure? Is nothing sacred?

Positive and negative no longer are compliments
Now we’re the same cos no need for supplements

Sport now reflects the querying of boundaries
Like robots obeying we are and non-binaried

All whites are oppressive without a choice
Everyone else sings in harmonic voice.

The floodgates opened in 2014
Homosexual marriage the new morphine

All institutions now deceitfully captured
So called progressives buoyantly enraptured

The decline of the west has left me behind
But eternal truth is on my side.

Destiny and the Muting of Scrutiny

Men fly The War-Plane of Mutiny
By querying their Destiny
And fly The Very Flag of Mutiny
When Destiny they mock with scrutiny
Vowing to no more drink Martini
Nor in other coolers harbor any tinny

Just like Britain can’t erase her felony
When Nigeria was her colony
One can’t A World of Monotony
Through ceaseless appearance in a ceremony!

Into it I read a mutiny
And a rebellion against Destiny
A Can-Never-Stop Glutton
Checking quarrels with his shirt button
Or a Decreed life of Celibacy
Fighting this with Ecstasy
Or even with The Slowest Immediacy …

Against Foreordained Destiny
We unwisely mutiny
With our Wise Scrutiny.

Tempting tenuous trickster trout tastefully

Premium MemberWeeping and Trepidation

Copious tears flowed gently in the dire disaster
but we're not in brutal excess.
Doom occurs precisely in a proper time
                                when subtlety is humorless.
Fierce passion, o heart, gaily
                            decorates your soul brightness.
And we are inseparably united
                                         in our wistful sadness.
However, my conscious mind is
                        precisely a vacuum-sealed recess.
Who merely performs reliably
                     exquisite poetry for the curiousness.
Querying anxiously, he has enflamed
the dear heart of eternal nothingness.
Feasibly my vital burning has been
                                quenched for untold sadness.

Premium MemberPerfume of Pauline

Pauline’s perfume personified poise and passion, a sliver.
In the quay of life, it was quaint, but it made one quiver.
Parading through life enticing quite a few quails,
Querying within but most suitors attempts were fails.
Pauline had the upper hand for sure, in every kind of way.
Her quiet, soft, personae was sedate almost every day.
Pauline’s platinum personality put us all in a quandary.
Did we pay penance, genuflect or just admire her that way?
I was not sure, so I stayed in my corner, under lock and key.
For this amorous scent would have been the quick undoing of me!

I Should Not Have Looked

I was riding happily as a kid,
Looking noone not comparing or worrying,
As i grew up, i started looking around
comparing and thinking a lot,
Still i rode but with no trace of happiness.
My ride would be amazing
without those querying glance,
checking out others
So I wish sometimes,
I should not have looked.

Seasonal Skies of Wonder

Skies of wondrous starry nights
all aglow with shining lights,
we look up to you with awe
thus to inspiration draw…

Fortunate we earthlings are
on a planet not bizarre,
close enough but not too far
from our solar system’s star

beaming its apricity,
swirled in synchronicity
to nocturnal shimmerings
lit by lunar glimmerings

as the moon reveals her face
gazing down at us from space…
(Though we know how shine those rays
still her luminescent ways

stir our fancies, as in dreams…)
Poets with their reams of themes—
tragic, magic, comical,
even astronomical—

marvel as stargazers do
with celestial aperçu
at galactic scenes on high
querying ‘where, when, and why?’…

This our orbit round the sun
of twelve months again has run
out of time in earthly flight,
and a new one looms in sight.

Looking back, I’ve seen some dreams
lose their way, or so it seems.
There’s been gladness, sadness, fear.
Now we face a coming year…

Skies of wondrous starry nights
all aglow with shining lights,
may we keep your stellar view
in our ken, beyond the blue,

with musings, self-reflective,
lest humans lose perspective!

Quantitive

One day a little blue bird skipped over the lemon tree. Spied a tortoise. And a cantering foliage. Wow. It was just so Devine. Justice jade jiving. Jelly beans giggling at pointed ears of corn. In a row. In a queue. Querying not a quarantined quagmire. And carrying a basket of fragile breads over three thousand miles, eight nautical kilometres, and 8000 steps can be quite treacherous really. Tape or tap. But never trap. A small bee who sings in a nine acre bowl. Xxxx hahaha deliberating donkeys. Hahahaha misty moos. Xxxxx quantitatively z

The Wreck

He lies sprawled on the trench
Drenched by the night dew
Overcome by over indulging
Cheap liquor has taken its toll

Back at home his wife tosses in bed
The night is cold and its too chilly
The kids had to go to bed half fed
Querying when dad will be home

He mumbles incoherent stuff
At least he tried to get home
Its first cock crow he surrenders
Tortured by faceless spectres

Blame Me

Can I at least have this chance
To speak on behalf On my heart 's treasure chest
About the quest of emotions runnin querying the fairness of life where secrets are not to be kept
Can I have this moment to assassin my pride for your enjoyment
Clear your conscious wipe all your prints and hide your involvement
Can I?

Go on look for lies where there is none
Tender your time into believing the unfinished is done
Hate me, blame me, ignore me it is fine
Anything is better for my dieting happiness
That bothers me not ..as I'm dying thousand deaths everyday
The floor, walls and the roof shout yesterdays memories now substituted by emptiness

Oh! I hate this new normal time has forced me to love
I am the virus that infected your existence, killing your dreams
I am the fool that allowed darkness to still her sanity so it seems
I am the hailstone that dented your solid future
Im sure to you i'm many things disgusting
Hate me, blame, ignore me it is fine
