The cycle of existence
will demand with great insistence
that you offer no resistance
as you proffer up your soul.
If you lose sight of the notion
it’s the gyroscopic motion
working like a magic potion,
then you’ll have to pay the toll.
Though your life hangs in the balance,
using toes that grip like talons,
with some practice and some talent
you’ll find the joy as you employ the unicycle roll.

sun …
glints off sweaty trickles as
they plop … plop …
little lad’s littler fingers tickling a
tide pool’s papery face
things of mysterious intention, darting
there to here to there …
wide eyes wider in amazement
tiny thrums quick’ning
dividing breaths
like swells divide the time
and tides …
a splash and a grasp, tightening
some small watery beast
cold-red cheeks blooming wide to
parody the dazzled bay
grins and giggles to mock the black-backs
for this shrimpy monster, squirming
is the prize of a wee fist
gamboling its way to
proffer some mad-mommy shrieks -
slimy and squiggly and
oh, so wondrous!
hunter, home from the hill
Ahab and his white sea demon
perfectly prideful,
invested surety of a silly smile
warmed by the sooty
afternoon …
sun.

The naked truth, will proffer no ruth..Its light is fit to
Blind you
Should you delve? where, most never do; or dare? its blast
Will outline you.'
So of what I do, either ask me true? And i will not not
Deny you.'
I'll chew the fat, if you're up for that? And lets place mans
Fears behind us.!

To drink
from my well
you
first must believe
Each cup
that I proffer
permission
received
The fuller
your bucket
the stronger
your vow
Each word
that you ladle
rebaptized
— aloud

On troubled roads of life, when opposing sides collide,
Conflict of emotions clamors, agitating ego and pride,
While empathy warns: let forgiveness be your guide,
As benevolent angels, in missives of compassion chide.
Mired in wins and losses, when humanity strums offbeat,
Adversaries propagate hatred, and blatantly mistreat,
As meaningless conversations puff up, donning conceit,
While expressions of solemn amiability retreat in defeat.
A proffer of calm and goodwill, checks enemy’s reign
When sanctity prevails, calming a perturbed domain,
As atonement and humility heal, soothing angst of pain
And disturbed vibes seeking revenge, begin to wane.
As nobility of repentance tenders offers of mercy, grace,
Malevolent behaviors recede, ashamed in disgrace,
And enlightenment of intellect inspires vacuous space,
When hosting redemption, reformed enemies embrace.
In affluence of cognitive thoughts informed minds elate
Harboring tolerance and sympathy, discarding hate,
Being harmonious with peace, mundane life they liberate,
Achieving balance within, unfazed by travails of fate.

Who among us
will write at the end
Who among us
the last to contend
Who among us
will capture goodbye
Who among us
won’t wither then die
Who among us
will stare it all down
Who among us
our destiny found
Who among us
will proffer the word
Who among us
demand to be heard
Who among us
will write the last song
Who among us
—will bridge the beyond

We're held by the reins of politics,
The lies, the truths and the deception,
The misguided pathways and the hell ways,
The unknown and the hidden facts.
Is there someone else behind the mask?
Or there're too much complexities woven in the tasks?
The society is overburdened,
The people are dispirited.
Trust yourself first and expect the unexpected
should be the watchword,
Then mayhem will not be a readily drawn sword,
Then we’ll find a road to cross.
There’s confusion at the centre,
The books don’t seem to proffer solutions,
The people seem to be accustomed to their hard ways,
Redemption is miles away.

I stood gazing, amid the garden's glow,
at cherubic hues of peach and zaffre
subtly bubbling around the fountain's flow.
I stood gazing, amid the garden's glow,
at this! The Maker's restorative show,
His blessing of the beauty to proffer.
I stood gazing, amid the garden's glow,
at cherubic hues of peach and zaffre.

Her inhaler is not exorbitant
But should it count much that she's The Buoyant?
Why the breathless condition keep constant?
Black smoke from her kitchen Great Irritant!
Six in the morning the cursed urge itching
And Madam Irene must see her kitchen.
Helping her out was her nicest offer
But she had continued to 'Yes' defer.
With her husband she shall first confer,
As he has opinions he can proffer!
"Mama, you're damned down: That's the main point,
To now steer life's precious ship effort joint;
Miss Agnes: a cook for you we appoint;
For the job your pastor could her anoint."

Tell me your secrets
I’ll tell you a lie
Bid me good tidings
I’ll bid you goodbye
Proffer me kindness
my heart a deaf ear
Timeless your offer
—whose moment I fear

Who am I?
Who do they see?
Who am I supposed to be?
What other road should I ply?
I’m saddled by their decisions,
These trying to make in me deep incisions,
They proffer a way,
Irreconcilable with my day.
I’m not known,
They can't see me,
They can't see the thriving seeds sown,
I’m an emerging sea.
I’m not a standstill train,
I'm a gathering rain,
It’s not a defeated fight,
I'm an arising light.
I won’t be masked by their viewpoints,
I have a course,
My carriage doesn’t have feeble joints,
I am an ensuing force.

Written for Anthony Biaanco’s ‘Fifth Season’ contest
but missed the deadline. Perhaps there should be a season
in which time never runs out. ;-)

The heart may be buoyant or leaden or light
Instinctively placid or up for the fight
The soul is the mind and can harbour intent
To spread peace and joy or with anger to vent
So whilst the heart gifts its host life with each beat
It’s souls that charge in or that beat a retreat
Thus when a black heart meets a dark hooded soul
The one net result? A belligerent whole
A dark soul will wage war in earliest spring
Or throughout a summer and not feel a thing
A murderous slaughter ensues through the fall
And even in winter might not rest at all
Should inclement climate defeat a man’s ire
Resentful - his pause in war’s rampaging fire
But just for a week or two at the year’s end
May anger abate so that peace may ascend
Whatever religion - or none - you might be
Christmas can tickle one’s humanity
Until angry souls proffer blessed release
And they briefly rest arms in the season of peace

The man who did lots suffer
Now relaxed on a sofa,
Waiting for what's on offer;
Some nice stuff they'd him proffer:
In his mind a Grant Cake
He'd taste and more of it take,
Seek to know who did it bake
And his sleeping love awake!
Just from a War Zone's Buffer,
They should him serve a buffet
Then fast make him a bridegroom,
Wife pushing to him plus room...

There once was a gnome named Jerome
Who made a herb garden his home.
One day as he frolicked,
He slipped and fell on some garlic
And was instantly killed when a clove cleft his dome.
The sad news of Jerome spread as far north as Nome,
And there was weeping and wailing from gnomes 'cross the foam.
When I learned what transpired,
Re the way he expired,
It inspired me to proffer this "po'm" for Jerome:
Here lies our dear comrade Jerome
'neath his garden's herbivorous loam.
If he'd played "farmer in the dill",
He'd be up here with us still
'stead of filling a 3 x 6 hole, his new home.
