When I tried to lick an icy pop,
When bike riding, with two-up on top.
I screamed and you squealed
As ice cream, revealed
Two riders fly head over heels plop

You invited me in
just to laugh amongst the array
of your erstwhile friends
you played the host cinderella
saying you were lost
in the dorm of domesticity
You enjoined me in
just to foreleign
at our voices
studying our accents
is east the new norm ?
You blew out the candles
and counted to ten
making snide remarks
saying what should be done, let it be done
picking up on the gloom
made me a stranger in the room

Marma laid there, endured Pop’s tickle
Marm got even, swung the sickle
These days, Pop’s a bit less fickle
Stares at Marma’s jar of pickles

Our backyard is a doggie toilet, how free that must feel
Asked Annie, she barked, “woof woof my hooha's congealed”
Youse guys don't know
When pooping in the snow
Freezes half way down, a mocha popsicle appeal

You might get your wish
from a stick of ice.
that you might lick and lick
till the flavors nice.
Till you're nearly all done
and two sticks appear,
that you might think an end
is no time to cheer.
But you're wrong, I will say.
You forgot to think
that was once tossed out
was the wrapper in ink.
And the back you see
is an ad for you.
Placed by Popsicle Pete
as the thing to do.
So you fill out the wrapper
and send it in.
sent with one dollar fifty;
if you're not to thin.
Then you wait for five months
and you wait for six days.
then will Popsicle Pete
soon return the praise.
when a very large package
that's from Popsicle Pete
will be sent to you
as a great big treat.
Now to open it up
Just to see what is in it.
You'll be very surprised
should you justly admit it.
It's a nuclear sub
about six foot eight.
made of folded up cardboard
in the lightest of weight.
Now you'll travel the seas
for the rest of days
steering here and there
as you lower and raise.
Thanks to Popsicle Pete
and the wrapper of choice.
There's a thousand new kids
who now have a voice.

I've been writing poems for three years now. I didn't write any before that. I just found a notebook from 20 years ago and this poem was in it. Evidently I wrote one poem for my kids back then, they were eight then.
I’d like to fly on and orange popsicle,
Up in the sky until it turns to trickle.
I’d zoom it up then turn it around,
And wave to the kids down on the ground.
They’d talk about what they’d see,
Two orange halves and one chilly me.
They’d envy me for sitting on top,
They’d wish to fly their very own pop.
With tongues they’d catch my orangey drips,
Then they would smack their new orange lips.
The big yellow sun would play his tricks,
And I’d be left with only the sticks.
I would fall through the clear blue sky,
But I’ll not worry and I’ll tell you why.
With sticks on my feet like a skier I’d land,
Then slide home safely on the soft sea sand.
I think that next I’ll visit the grassy sea floor,
That is, I believe, what the red ones are for.

It just goes to show how much people have sunk.
A ten year old girl was found murdered in a trunk.
That poor girl was really in a pickle.
She was killed for eating a popsicle.
Her Grandma, aunt and cousins constantly subjected her to abuse.
When the law gets done, I hope they turn them every way but loose.
They killed her because she ate that popsicle without getting permission.
It was horrible to have to live under those terrifying conditions.
Just thinking about this gets me and many other people riled.
I hope they get the gas chamber for what they did to that child.
(Sadly this is a true story.)
