EN POINTE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Upon a dimly lit state she stands
en pointe, defying gravity.
Time pauses, suspended like
dust motes dancing in the spotlight.
She holds the moment
like a fragile glass ornament,
balancing herself on the edge
between her grace and strength.
What thoughts swirl in her mind,
as the audience holds its breath?
Does she ponder the road that led her here,
Premium MemberEidolon En Pointe
Savvy silver vanity set howls
on the edge of an antique dresser;
The ballerina’s festooned curls
aglow in the mirror’s reflection;
On the edge of an antique dresser
an eidolon sits pointe shoes laced;
Aglow in the mirror’s reflection,
left foot lies slightly unnatural;
An eidolon sits pointe shoes laced,
wailing her toes swell ever larger;
Left foot lies slightly unnatural,
bent and broken
Ended up with his head en pointe.
Drawdy Pointe
Drawdy Pointe
Flyaway frond hairs wear the breeze
where the green palm nods her head,
and the pelican post's lone occupant
is surveying the fisherman’s empty line.
Across the water in the yellow yard,
a gypsy on loan from Key West,
the alpaca grows wool, the donkey brays,
and the happy chickens nest.
Quiet and peaceful, grasses silently slip,
adrift on canals from the
The last living light
Twinkles in his dead eyes
Alive a moment ago but now gone
Someone should shut them
A stare so lonely
Into a place that only he knew
He’s lying there on the floor
Bleeding hard from the head
Police don’t even bother
Just pay him his respects
It’s cold and lonely down there
Watching life go on
Knowing your no long part
En Pointe
“EN POINTE”
My Darlings, what a lovely way to pass the time “en pointe.”
 Arching your back, trying desperately to counterpoint the feet,
The smile on your faces can not hide the pain of it all.
