Pinnacled Poems | Examples

Premium MemberThe Picture of My Grandfather

He would walk into the room
Shoulders held high
Pinnacled to touch the sky
In my eyes a giant of a man

My Grandfather wore a face
Of a blue-eyed Irish sage
With wondrous stories and rousing song
In every breath and heartbeat
Belonging to his Celtic tradition

Some might call him strapping
To me he was a brilliant smile
We would hold hands to dance and sing
In the light of him loving me

So simply, almost magically
He would pull me from my shyness
Into a world of extraneous joy
As he twirled me up onto his shoulders

Then crashing to the floor, feet on the ground
To dance with fire and delight
With every step while singing
Loud and clear of the happiness he knew

Still the One

Will you marry me?...enamored the deep gaze.
Twenty years ago , I mesmerised into your maze.

Razzled dazzled life, beleaguered in myriad phase.
Pristine peace I found, hugged in your embrace.

Those quarrels and niggles, grudge, grin of grumble.
Those laurels and giggles, touch within was humble.

Annoy of careless throws, those wet towels on bed.
I waited for your rose,... that 'wow' you never said.

In silence reigned Love, so majestic like kings.
I grew strong in your arms, you flew high on my wings.

You're still the one...tentacled together.
You're still the one...pinnacled forever.

The Trust of our old treasure...
Our love ?...How do we measure?

Premium MemberFuture Nostalgia

A retiring sun appeared cut in half,
As pinnacled rays of light,
Through breaches in the clouds,
Formed a radial lattice,
That was projected through the twilight,
Gave me a feeling of nostalgia,
For a time when things were all right.

Summer's Song

When lost in sorrow, too much to bear-
To see an ember of hope re-sparked -
I look at you, into your eyes I stare -
Still on your finger, my love is marked -
Although not worthy of your endless love -
You give me light, pinnacled from high above -

You live each day within physical strife -
Running fast you fly off the ground -
I'll hold on tight, for you are my life -
And tell you oft' that true love is found -
You are safe in a promise made long ago -
Forever loved and cherished, it's my hope to show -

Forget the lost people who turned away -
I am your family, my heart shall never stray -
So love this time as it will never end -
Into eternity my love I will gladly send -
Summer my dear, it is my loving duty -
To cherish above all, your radiant beauty -

Forever on your finger my love is marked -
A fire of hope inside, has been sparked-

Snow Leached

All brimming crystal drizzled earth frazzled glory hugged;
Icicles jousting kaleidoscopic light, meets
Natures overfrosted pinnacled quiverings.
Raining snow tumults us, Life-like vanities:
Waning xylems' younger zeniths

Desire

maybe Epicurus might'a been furious
if he'd lost all of his desire
combed the ground, to look around
for lost wants to quench his ire

where'd he drop his taste for food
and pour out his tongue for wine
no lyre to pluck his ire for good
no nimble lover to limbly entwine

no want for jaunt to walkabout sea
or hope to climb pinnacled knowledge
the soul enslaved to desireable plea
too hard released from its bondage

just might want philosophy to be
freeing of fears brings tranquility
no purpose repurposed for plan B
afterlife ever after an impossibility

yet, today is right here, right now
and we all can provision it wisely
accept what joy providence will allow
see, as he, an Epicurean view blithely

Reprisal

I marched, they marched, we marched
For nothing now it seemed
And I the ego pulpiteer, left parched
Refusing to go underground with the stream
That carried me before to a sheer
Desolate drop, I can struggle unless I fear.

So here in the monastry of altar and pew
I come again O God to you. Next
Time when the fire starts, remember few
Were called to drink gall and text
And I among them have lived pure to truth
Provide a ram for the obedience of youth.

We shall unclenching fist feed in fecund feast
Unwithering love to every poor
Spirited, staggering from kingdom to beast
Blind to thy Jerusalem's door.
I came because I believe, and tremble still
Slobbering at the invisible shadow of your will.

What else, each time timbre of trumpet tells here
And after wars dead flowers are left
What else could counter the clamour of despair
And bring me gloried on knees bereft
Brailing the gored gospel of its giddy solace
Pinnacled on the faith fluttering face to face.
