Premium MemberNo one compares to you

No one compares (to you)

I cry myself to sleep almost every night
since you took my heart away
I try to tell myself... that it's alright
I can live for one more day

Everywhere I go, things remind me of you
the whispers on the breeze,
My sorrow paralyzes, what can I do?
it brings me to my knees

Chorus
There's no solace in my day to day
since you took my heart away
Grief supplants my joy in all I do
'cause no one compares...
no one compares to you

I go alone now to our favorite place
I think of what you'd do
No one else exists, all I see is your face
I don't know what is true

Chorus
There's no solace in my day to day
since you took my heart away
Grief supplants the joy of all I do
'cause no one compares...
no one compares to you

The Wall

I look down from atop the wall—I am overwhelmed
fear paralyzes me—the challenge is too much
but I cannot stay here—life moves along
go says the voice in my head—my hands will not obey

Premium MemberFear Paralyzes

Fear is paralyzing.
It can be a thief, robbing a person of joy.
Comprising
Trembling, sweating
It can cause fast heart rate, poor boy.
Getting
Chest pain
Fear is the ploy.
Chained!
Fear is paralyzing.
It can cause fast heart rate, poor boy.
Chained!!

Premium MemberA Sojourn With Deathly Swans

there is no fire in the lavender skies of February
it is as if all that exists with warmth, light and desire
has fled to the future
it is here that the white swans muse and ponder
slowly stirring in hapless meanderings
through a stoic sluggish pond
it is here that I find myself coming to belong

nestled in the cold casket of a wind still winter
spring has shown its face with flowers
soiled, stagnant and sour
nature cultivates somber green to justify the incessant gray
the mossy sludge of rains fallen in my desolate pall
where there are no colors in my empty heart
for I have imprisoned hope and lost the key
somewhere in the dire fog

this catatonia speaks tones of wretched gloom
that paralyzes with foreboding dullness
its ghastly numbness buries the ghosts that haunt
for gray gives my soul a vapid and sullen vacuity
I tread bent and worn in this wasteland
seeking a sojourn with deathly swans
I am empirically lost in the shroud of shielded gray skies
hiding myself in the mists of passionless pain

Premium MemberSmall Talk

There's a heaviness
that comes over
leaking in from somewhere,
a certain mood
that paralyzes the throat.
It causes you to withdraw
and pull back
from where you can look out
and not feel what happens,
as if the nerves connecting
you to life are like those
to a tooth numbed
by novacaine.

When it wears off you find
yourself looking for a way back,
feeling around the dark for an exit
out of your own skin, riding
on the back of a word or two
as they escape your mouth
headed for the nearest conversation
where you can hide
in the small talk and nobody
will ever know you're there.

Fear

Scares just like
                  neurosis...
                 numbs like
                  overdose, swell
                  as aponeurosis,
                  It paralyzes even as
                  hypnosis... !

Premium MemberFlute Solo Under An August Moon

moved with emotion
the flute breaks the silence

enchanting with rapture the evening magic
she casts out her midnight serenade

beguiling with every note
charming the summer breeze

she rounds up the stars and asters
and hypnotizes nightblooming flowers

paralyzes with awe the moon
that trembles in a sky that's quiet

she is captive under the flute's spell
all at the wave of nimble little fingers

Premium MemberBroken

Agonizing darkness descends upon my hopelessness.
Crouching in a fetal position as terrifying pain infests.
Oh the slashing, bashing of the wielding belt.
Crying and scampering, knowing his rage, I felt.
Yearning for and welcoming the comfort of death as a release.
As the cloud of fear cries and begs for it to ease.
My body shaken and violently let go what it had.
It only increases this rage from my dad.

At her peril, mother suddenly steps in.
This nightmare of death and torture ends.
She helps me, as I stumble to bed, and I cried all night.
Still fear ravages and paralyzes me from my father’s sight.
No child should ever go through this reign of terror.
Dad begged and begged for forgiveness of his errors.

After a time for healing, I completely avoided him.
A final and difficult reconciliation between us began.
I and my siblings enjoyed and loved him until he died.
His children no longer feared him but honored him with his last rights.

Premium MemberWorry

You sit and think of what could be
but not with any sense of glee.
The future looks all dull and dark
so, before long you lose life’s spark.

Soon stinking thinking starts to stress
and heavy feelings start to press.
Your mind becomes a muddled mess
and mental zest gets less and less.

You cannot sleep, you lie and weep
as self-pity over you sweep.
The mirror tells a terror tale
of pallid face and figure frail.

If this is you, then turn the tide,
Tis past the time to bide and hide.
Cry out for help, the silence end
seek out those who can help you mend.

The things you fear may never come
so, worrying is downright dumb.
It paralyzes, makes you numb,
it saps your strength and leaves you glum.

Your thoughts tremendous power hold
To scare you stiff or make you bold.
Don’t ever let your thoughts run wild,
but train them as a little child.

Don’t waste your watts with worrying
it drains and leaves you wearying.
Tend to thoughts that lift you up
and good outcomes will fill your cup.

Abominable Aborigine
Boycotted Baltimore’s Bakery
Canady Canola’s Cannery
Decoded deceitful debauchery

Endless energetic energy
Forwarded farmyard frolicking for a fee
Geographically greeting in Germany
Hardcopy happiness hee hee hee

Ignoring ignorance illegally
Juicy juggling juggernauts
Kettledrums, Kenya and Kentucky
Livening up our literacy
Maniac madness in a manatee

Nightingale nips so nervously
October’s ocelot obviously….
Paralyzes Petunia Parkway’s parenthesis
Quaking quail quickly qualifies me

Relaying relative radioactivity
Scapegoats and scarecrows so scantily
Treat Tajikistan twice tactfully
Undermining Ukraine’s utter ukulele

Vaporizing various vanities
Wicked Washington warrants wisely
X-rays xylophones ‘xtra-instantly
Yellow jackets yield young yearly
Zippy Zeus’s zesty zoology zings with zeal between you and me.

Forgiveness

Betrayal, like a vice,
 Paralyzes
Abuse leaves unseen marks
 In open scars
Surprise personal attacks
 Leave the soul sputtering
Deception’s whirlwinds
 Spin dizzy unbalance
Lies’ masks of deceit
 Destroy loyalty
Ridicule slashes love
 Lacerating trust
Arrogance breeds anger
 Shredding humble conversation

Hard won forgiveness
 Releases the soul
Letting God
 Heal with balm
Past the portal
 Of understanding
Letting God
 Met out the consequence
Understanding we too
 Receive forgiveness

Moonlight reflected in your eyes
Paralyzes my thoughts for a moment
Captivating the whisper of a promise
Dancing through the starlit sky
Laughing and loving with the assurance
That you are the hope in my heart
