Three preteen girls tried to be friends with each other
They will never be able to do it, says Dorthea’s brother
Never say never, warns his savvy sage stepmother.
Wisely saying nothing, is David, Dorthea’s brother.
David has noted that girls do not get along in threes.
They want a bestie, and one is always feeling left out.
He waits for the fireworks, which happens with these.
One of the girls storms out of the house, with an angry shout.
What happened to her? Asks the stepmother, truly confused.
David keeps his mouth shut, but he understands the shout.
The fact that he is smarter than her, makes him feel amused.
She is one of three, says the stepson, it never works out.
Boys can get along fine in three; they never stomp out.
That is true of boys, but not of girls, David said.
Girls pair off in twos, and one is always feeling left out.
His stepmother decided to put this new knowledge into her head.
twitching noses
in tussocks
of awakened primroses
rummaging on hazel boles
hibernating mammals
poke from the holes
leafless hedgerows
where buds now form
a carpet of white corm
Badgers forage
for food near their sett
renewing
their bracken scented couchette
Sparrow and robin
pair off in twos
as lengthening days
come into view.
aconite open in rays of sun
below yellow catkins
with tails fine spun.
Osier shoots
in green corn camomile
as Spring mornings
begin to smile.

into which each footstep sinks,
cracking under body weight so
not the best place to skate.

delicate dancing fairy twinkling her magical ways
exuding happiness into the warmth of the oak forest
Her petite face showing the prancing bunnies they are safe
They hear the mystical melody of her heart song and pair off
the invisible piper leans against the tree, enjoying his creation

As spring's golden sun rises awakening the fog. Its light reveals fog's gray clinging tenacles all about. A Dove coos softly singing in spaces opened up when the roosters quieten their chorus..The tree's dark silhouettes stand still for no breeze rustles the air this morn. Those Blackbirds are back their voices fill the Oaks with lively music. Then they go down upon the good earth to feed upon the rich food available. I don't even see anything there but they seem to find plenty everyday. It seems they are here to stay this year. They usually come for awhile then leave until about the same time the next year. I wonder if they are going to pair off and stay around. Only God knows if they will stay or leave. He has provided for the troup to have sufficient food everyday. All they have to do is come and feed. We His creation only have to come into His Presence each day for a short time, open our hearts and minds to hear His Voice. He is there waiting won't you come and feed upon His Word(The Bible) and then wait to hear His Voice for it is pleasant to the ears..
