If depression came in a package
it might have the prettiest outer layer.
If depression came in a package
it might have the brightest red bow.
If depression came in a package
it would be advertised by a forked tongue.
Don't be fooled by the paper
it lies over top of danger.
If the package should unravel
and scatter where you stand,
you will soon see the demons.
Don't let them take your hand.
If the package should unravel
and scatter where you stand,
you will feel thousands of blades
cutting your spirit, heart, and hands.
So don't let it unravel;
the package deserves the hottest of flames,
because the dangers it holds inside
are death of the soul, by name.
So don't let it unravel;
the package deserves the hottest of flames,
because the dangers it holds inside
are anything but a good game.
If depression came in a package
it won't at first expose itself by name,
but the sooner it scatters like ashes in the wind
the less you suffer from shame.

~ Bunny Hunch
She is the complete package
Her clothing and her hair are just so
She has a confidence that oozes into the room
Her selfness is contained, calm, and curiously attractive.
I stare at her, wondering when I am going to become her.
Not this lifetime, maybe the next one or the one after that?
She is smart, knowledgeable, and knows what to say.
I'd got out the hammer, the hatchet and pliers
To attack the package of plastic and wires.
But the fix was so tricky,
The stickum so sticky,
I'd not even scratched it when I set it on fire!
Yesterday you were the whole package
My complete perfect man
Hard working from early morn
Productive… doing all you can!
Thoughtful, affectionate and really sweet
The usual humorous you
Making me laugh all the time
With all you do!
You even made my dinner
Perfect end to a lovely day
Me ,not such a good wife last night
Asleep on the couch…..
Thunderously snoring away!!
Sink and rise
float away, swim back.
Mood swings its legs over a trapeze once more.
There's a pill for that and this
but what ails is so out of date
that it forgets its name.
Body awareness fowls its anchor.
Mind games checked by dead-lead checkers.
Go to the Casino
blow it all. win some...don't care.
Take the damn pill...now we all care.
Wine or beer? Jack D, keep the change,
Choices, who needs em?
Got a railway track to run on
wide-eyed and fished out of a gene pool
white knuckles beached on a dark moon.
Shallow is the breath of this whirring dreidel.
It's a Saturday night and out of talky time,
check the gun - unload it
oil it. Put it away for now.
Rise, subside, wave while you wipe-out,
swim back to where you were.
Easily with our ears picked
But mostly with our Feet kicked:
A skirting round a dance floor
Back and forth its entrance door.
No sooner by cochlea’s filtered
Than it is by lips uttered
And by the hands gestured,
As swinging them is nurtured:
Corrupted hips in a non-stop undulation,
Fantasizing eyes, a ceaseless dilation
Every second impressing Rotational Speed
Little or no restraint to heed.
A balm for wounded spirit music:
An eraser of a hurting hiss,
A genre faithfully fanning out pleasantries,
Another volunteering unfamiliar quaintness:
The First, A Melody For The Mild
The Second A Package for The Wild
The Former by Degrees boisterous
The Latter ever willing to be mysterious
A served dish of contrasting choices
By an as much contrasting voices
Quick millions showers an upcoming talent
A supporting shoulder for the voice with a dent

A Small Christmas Package
You have brightened my life.
I have found you.
A tiny piece of my past,
worth saving.
Something I can keep,
as mine.
I thought it was lost,
I had accepted that,
If not willingly,
peacefully.
You laughed just like I remembered.
We both were lost in past journeys,
for a moment or two…
taken as kids to places
remembered in dreams.
Now,
We both have children.
We both have lives.
but we…
both now,
have something…
we did not have before.
A chance to laugh,
together one more time,
even if it is…
just for a little while.
Good night, Nancy Drew.
God give you every happiness.
Prayers your life,
is full…
and happy…
You,
are a shell on the beach,
found at the end of the day,
to remember a journey
worth taking.

A little black dress
Amazon said it has been delivered.
We look everywhere.
They said on the porch.
We clean the porch.
Unless it went down a mouse hole,
it is not on the porch.
We search the mailbox, even the garden cart
for they left a box of cat food in there once.
The garage was closed, and we doubt
they entered the side door with the
cobwebs that would make a hoarder shudder.
My husband calls them back.
They left it under the mailbox where the
robin has her nest.
We do not use that.
It is the robin’s!
Sure enough, there it is.
Good thing it’s summertime.
The Package
This is a tiny prayer.
Do not let the size of it,
Belittle its importance.
The miracle is often in the details.
It has been prayed on your behalf.
There is no expiration.
You don't have to do...anything.
It is a gift.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
Honesty is the whole package
Blowing the other bridges to bits
Living her truth
Loving her people
Utterly trustworthy
A well-put-together package
of respectfulness, goodness, and fair trade.
BOOM! What was that?
The lies of men blowing themselves up
in their confused dendrite fields
Trying to keep themselves straight but losing bitterly
For the truth is easy
But the lie has to be re-done,
She never shows herself without conflict
Truth's nature is easy.
to convince people of her worthiness she just has to be
Lie's nature is to perpetually be disbelieved
Unhonored, unrevered, and disrespected
BOOM!
There they go, blowing themselves up
One after another
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
I get no satisfaction in listening
Recognizing the sorrow caused by sad betrayals
and hurt feelings caused by liars
I DON'T KNOW
IT'S HARD FOR ME TO SAY
ONE DAY WE WERE
TALKING ABOUT THIS AND THAT
I STARTED SEEING THINGS HER WAY
GUESS I GAVE IN
WE STARTED BEING FREINDS
TOOK OUR TIME
THAT'S WHEN OUR LOVE BEGAN
WE STARTED TALKING ABOUT
CALENDERS AND KEEPING
TRACK OF THINGS
I FOUND HER TO BE SOMEONE
YOU COULD LOVE
THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGED
FOUND MY EVERYTHANG
REMEMBER THE DAY THINGS CHANGED
WE STOPPED ACTING STRANGE
THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGED
GOT IN LINE
TOOK MY TURN
THEY SAID I WAS CRAZY
A LESSON LEARNED
WHEN THEY ALL FELL OFF
I STAYED IN
SHE STARTED APPRECATING ME
AND WE BECAME FREINDS
DAY BY DAY
WE STUCK TO IT
MADE TIME FOR US
HELD ON TO IT
THEN ONE DAY
WE SET A DATE
INVITED ALL
COME ALL DON'T BE LATE
We See the Package,
God Views its Contents
6-15-2016
The package that a person is wrapped in,
Tells us nothing about the contents inside;
Not who they are, or where they’ve been,
Or things, that from others, they can hide;
In judging a person simply by visual aspect,
We miss what lies concealed within their heart.
We see, a pretty face and how it’s bedecked,
And make decisions which aren’t too smart.
Only God doesn’t look at the outward man,
But at heart content and all things he’s done;
That’s why it pays to have a Godly game plan,
For any past transgressions can’t be undone.
Just Forgiven!
you are unique
with your bundle of talents
quirks and flaws
qualities and strengths

with
respect and gratitude

as your own best friend
forever loyal and supportive
