A Small Christmas Package

A Small Christmas Package

You have brightened my life. 
I have found you. 
A tiny piece of my past, 
worth saving. 
Something I can keep, 
as mine. 

I thought it was lost, 
I had accepted that, 
If not willingly, 
peacefully. 

You laughed just like I remembered. 
We both were lost in past journeys, 
for a moment or two…
taken as kids to places 
remembered in dreams. 

Now,
We both have children. 
We both have lives. 
but we…
both now, 
have something…
we did not have before. 
A chance to laugh, 
together one more time, 
even if it is…
just for a little while. 

Good night, Nancy Drew. 
God give you every happiness. 
Prayers your life, 
is full… 
and happy… 

You,
are a shell on the beach, 
found at the end of the day, 
to remember a journey 
worth taking.
