a scribble here
a scribble there
my pen randomly
drawing diagrams and
spelling out words

meaningless chatter
idle artwork
mindless spilling of
thought overflow

nervous tic
kinetic outreach
mental gymnastics
creative outlet
for pent-up energy

Premium MemberTake a book, leave a book

We see them popping up on random streets
in a neighbourly outreach kind of way.
We don't know who to thank
since no one steps up to claim the credit
but it's the community as a whole
who benefits in many wondrous ways.

The suburbs are delighted to champion
these ecofriendly gifts of sharing ~
not only charming but welcomed pointers that
goodwill and kindness are alive and well.

Premium Memberrisen and redeemed

despite diligence of virtue’s outreach
vice lurks adamant seeking a weak breach

sweet talking as it beckons with a grin
spirals down spinning slow into a sin

my path did once veer off the righteous cause
sank steady in quick sand of sinful jaws

my muddled mindset lured into abyss
basking in toxic air of faux pas bliss

upon hitting the grimy gloomy pit
at the very bottom I saw to it

I learnt to spurn the taste of tempting trait
the promised land of vice deceitful bait

Premium MemberAs We Wait

pink roses hang heavy in the undulating heat
a partial arch over the laneway
gentle sway midst the silver dust

a youth with his pug dog pauses
half in shadow beneath the flowery portal
the air lit by scent from a hidden inside
the dog restless
pulls at its leash like harbored want

wing-like, the boy lifts the dog to better sniff
delightedly, blooms in the soft swell of summer
unfazed wonderment caught in the dog's wagging tail
cheerful in this limited space
before what a lad hopes to remember is shadowed by age
before what bridges gaps gets undone

an unpredictable moment
a chemistry
when we outreach ourselves
in a patchwork of senses
to know an airborne longing
in the pathways behind us

Life's Sun Setting

The sun setting in horizon
Is like a deep sunken eyes
Looking beyond the sight grazing
As its rays too many lining
Penetrating the farthest outreach
Only to find its beauty fading
Like the beauty of woman waning
As age also waning its chances
Too gone are days of youngness
So sun setting is life's ending.

Premium MemberThings Missing

Life is much to do about time, space, and place.
Our lives are developed in these three arenas.
It is where our lives are continually altered.
It is also where things go missing.

What is it like to be 34 months and 2000 miles
Removed from a placed you felt at home more
Than any other place and came to love
More than any other.

We all have treasured things that at some point
In our lives can disappear or become missing.
What are a few things that can go missing?
Things like emotions refusing to be disconnected;
Rare things that are very difficult to replace;
Things like moments that feel like magic.

For me, it is the site of raised hands at the altars.
It is the sound of my pastor's voice saying, "Wow!"
It is the Word of God permeating the church's bulletin.
It is an announcement of some new outreach venture.
It is being trained to be a doorkeeper in the House of God.
It is the sound of a man in the pews shouting, "JESUS!"
It is praise and worship compelling me to fall prostrate.
It is the free flowing of The Holy Spirit and a clear
message of salvation that leads people to Christ.
It is a big bear hug from a big God loving man name Sam.

Premium MemberRichard

This time of year I'm fondly
reminded of Richard the
old guys playing chess on
lakeshore drive watching the
cities shoreline freeze over
popcorn stands chestnuts
warms the hands on state
street the Irish river at a
stand still as the
center prepares for the
giant douglas fir tree hawks
perch on ledges as the lions
roars on the steps at the
du sable museum cornerstone
outreach paints the faces of
children parents help out in
the soup kitchens homeless
are actually singing Christmas
Carols as Richard wearing
a plaid scarf approaches
Merry Christmas
Chicago and to all a good night

Premium Memberstars of clarity

what is clear when the fog clears,
the fog that makes you tipsy,
      the dizzy feeling of falling…

there are stars of the past,
   the fallen angels -
      we don’t call them angels.

no longer the cherubs.
   stars of clarity -
      amazing.

ebon sky fills the mind.
   wisdom of the ages,
      I find.

those sparkling creations -
   clarifying, cleansing
      diamonds glitch.

the ring,
   no longer petrified,
      but razzle dazzling.

of what I speak of:
the time you held my hand
      and we tarried

under the tent
   of darkness and light,
      targeted

our future -
   it was the brightest white.
      a bazillion stars

filled the horizon
   aliens landed…
      I imagined.

stars of clarity outreach -
   they preach a sermon.
      it is deep.

My Book
Miracle Man
10/8/2023

My life is a day book that others can read,
and within its pages is the sermon I preach.
It’s who I am, my beliefs, and my creed,
it’s my witness to others, I’m Gods outreach.

It bears dog eared pages from a momentous time,
a long ago happening that I’d sooner forget.
Before accepting Jesus and still in my prime,
and now on occasion I’ll recall with regret.

But when God forgives He remembers no more,
from east to west, scriptures says its moved.
I no longer do things that God will abhor,
and thank Him daily that pages are smoothed.

 Psalm 103:12
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Premium MemberAs the Misty Moon Rides High

Selene, the moon goddess, is on her duty,
With her silvery golden shaded face, she shines;
She's, lo, the ultimate perfection of beauty...!

Riding on her coach the zenith she has to reach,
The clouds like fine frankincense their aroma spread;
The celestial love and beauty she does outreach,
Radiance, on nature, like gold, does glory shred...!

"AS THE MISTY MOON RIDES HIGH" rains their faucets close,
The darkness of ignorance fails to cover her;
Kites and eagles as heavenly cherubim pose,
Elements of the world under and above stir;
Birds and beasts and trees and plants now new songs compose...!!!

Premium MemberGlobal Outreach

Getting connected through rhymes;
Lifted by our collective energy
our outreach exponentially increases;
Beautiful belted voices
a cappella synergy
letting the distance fall
out of the shadows together as one;
Under a pen name making a statement
to the readers;
Rondines, couplets,or senyrus
every letter moves as our souls align;
Alphabet magic
connects us with it’s universal language
helping build bridges around the world.

their bundle of hopes and aspirations
of dreams and share of nightmares
their dose of hardships
of injustices and bad luck
their moments of kindness
of outreach to show compassion
their bouts of disillusion
of faith in better days ahead
their courage to rise above challenges
of drive in the face of danger

i see so much of me in them
i see complex humans
trying to make it through this maze
we call life --

Sky On Fire; Far-Horizoned

Brilliant lit, but no light
Divine, souls breach.
And but as quick, quenchless, to mock
Mercy's outreach.

No serene-faced seraph's
All fears dispel!
Its counter-look! Of violence.
Reflecting Hell.

Sans MindBody

We grace this Earth for the purpose of God,
A beacon on the hill, not be hidden,
Good seeds with a righteous cover of sod,
Unlike a tree, bear fruit that's forbidden.

We are representatives of The Word,
Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ,
Voices of virtuous living be heard,
Dutiful of the well-earned sacrificed.

Our seeds, ingrained, encrypted, in His name,
Indelible impressions of growing,
Outreach to the lost and hopeless, our aim,
Our constant glow let all in the knowing.

Our brims are well beyond overflowing,
Know the intercessor ere all-knowing.
