Premium MemberDAILY GRATITUDE GENES OF AN OPTIMIST

I am grateful for having the genes of an optimist…
and all the joy they bring…
making every day I wake up
feel like the very first day of Spring

Premium MemberAn Eternal Optimist

The world needs a little
Good news everyday
Just look on the bright side
It's better that way

Kick up your heels
Say howdy my friends
Just smile at a stranger
Your woes you'll transcend

On the verge of disaster
Show them there's hope
To look at this world
Through a much larger scope

It may be contagious
You'll start a new trend
Who knows it might happen
You'll make some new friends

I know that the cynics
Will laugh and they'll scoff
To think that us humans
Past sins we can doff

We've got to start somewhere
So why not right now
The world will stop fighting
And wars disavow

Just call me a dreamer
I welcome that name
Don't need any medals
No fortune or fame

The best compensation
A world filled with joy
Where everyone's happy
And spirits are buoyed

We can't let our efforts
Just end up in vain
We must see a world
Where happiness reigns

It's crucial for us
To succeed in this quest
Else mankind will perish
My case I do rest

Optimist

October takes us from autumn to winter
One should do offering observable oblation
Obtaining kind treatment and hand to people
Obviating greed negative demeanor or offensive
Obviously it is the right path and good ways
One-way time goes on no return to past
Often many people waste their time

Premium Memberoptimist frog

Optimist frog looked for goodness in the world every day.
He found it too and seemed happy and ready to play
You are the best he told us, building our self-concepts up.
But what about you? Asked his savior, his pup.

I am not important, optimist frog said, concentrating on others.
He thought this because he had been shunned by two mothers.
You are the best! The pup told him, you need to believe that too.
But he could only believe it about other frogs, and this made him blue.

Premium MemberLee the Optimistic Optimist

Lee the optimistic optimist invented things too
He could ride a bike with less wheels than two
Dogs and birds tried to go along on his adventures
He invented red white and blue casual dentures.

What else did he invent? My children begged me.
They had heard many stories about Liberty Lee.
I had grown up with him and he was a kick.
He invented chocolate cake two times more than thick.

He had one hundred patents by the time he was twenty.
You would have thought this would have been plenty.
But Lee invented all day, and sometimes into the night.
He would wake up with an idea that was way out of sight.

By the time he was seventy, he was a trillionaire.
He had invented robots that could braid your hair.
And cosmonauts who travelled in blood stream of a dog.
Invented also a sweet smelling fragrance for a hog.

Positivist Reflection

Despite living
supplying myself with cement
, steel and disgust...
Despite building me
daily verbiage walls,
I'm in a light spirit...
always ready to burst
in songs and laughter...!

The Optimist

The water was dark and still as I watched the ragged sail ripple slightly from the smooth breeze.
This cloth that will be a part of my fate. The piece I allowed to completely demolish me or unlikely pursue my inevitable dissolve.
There was some frustration in the fact that even being alone on this boat, the sounds of the water slopping on the sides was enough to drive me insane.
There is no such thing as silence.
Even the stars were too bright to close my eyes.
I don't know how I got here.
I guessed how to make a sail, used what clothes were near and said, it.
So, I'm sailing.
Without wind, of course.
Hoping for high seas and lightning.
But, my thoughts are my reckoning.
I'll eventually turn back.
The torture is.. what I went to discover was not what I expected.
No pirates or secluded islands.
Just nothing.
Even though I made it this far,
Who cares?

Premium MemberConfidence In Life

Where's the confidence in life
You're facing a controversial world
Of changes, chaos and upheavals
But an optimist will see a chance in difficulty
A pessimist will see difficulty in a chance
You have to try to live better
God only helps those who help themselves
Only trials, perseverance and efforts
Will accomplish something
A little accomplishment means
A little confidence
Let's the confidence piles up
And you'll have eureka at last

The Optimist Sailor

Out at sea for so long I fear my sanity's failing
Like pirates of old, trust in my vision curtailing
Are mermaids waving there or tails of whales flailing
Perhaps a mirage is where I seem to be sailing
Yet my great love for the sea is still prevailing
I close my eyes and lean forward over the railing
Breathe misty ocean air in, inhaling, exhaling
The unknown lies ahead with regrets behind trailing
My sailboat silhouette in the horizon impaling
Rocking to and fro over waves that I'm scaling
Through sun and storms, through raining and hailing
Smiling to stay afloat, with a bucket, keep bailing
When water came in I'm still singing, not wailing
Whatever happens now, this sure cured what was ailing

A Twain of Unlike Twins

What ere were warm, inviting open doors,
To this man maudlin and defeated kind,
Unsure, frightened, his dog-tail tucked behind,
He now finds shut, keys lost at far off shores.
Asked of voyage, on adverse winds he whines,
Given a choice from a pair of evils,
He chooses both— he who to doubt inclines,
One sure can’t go wrong with his choice of ills.

Here’s him— lion’s gait with vigour and vim,
He minds no doors getting shut on his face
And looks a sure shot like a tennis ace,
Belief in him bouncing like rising cream,
All odds-against ciphered, game on a deuce,
And a shot that turns all don’ts unto dos!

Poet’s note: “To a pessimist, his opportunities look like difficulties.
To an optimist, the difficulties are like opportunities.”
I think it was Harry Truman who said this.
This Sonnet takes off from what he said.

Premium MemberRealist Optimist

So beautiful I could cry.
Memories never lie.
Sorrow never says goodbye.
World’s so wonderful with blue sky.

So happy I could die.
Energies always high.
Tomorrow always says hello.
Life’s so worthy to live by.

Through a realist optimist’s eyes,
Memories, energies are never lies.
Through mine sight there’s always lights
Forever in all my world’s life.

Beyond a realist optimist’s sighs,
Memories, energies always help to fly.
Beyond mine mind there’s all I’ll find,
All so nigh in my lifes on world with blue sky.

Overrun with covid
Overpowered with stress,
Obligation their aim
Otherwise our health spent,
Oxbridge to the rescue
Outlook fashions a smile
On the front line of hell.
