Occupies Poems

Premium MemberListen to the Wind

Listen to the wind sweeping autumn leaves,
pirouetting amongst a citrine sunset.
Whilst light rain collects at corners of windowsills,
illumination from a crackling fire
bounces upon unpigmented mourning walls.

Silent weeping occupies microcrevices,
confined within the splintering memories.
The creaking of an antique rocking chair
melds with the restless nocturnal atmosphere,
of time no longer waiting in the shadows.

Sheer onyx fabric draped over photographs—
death came much earlier, not from hate or spite,
but to erase the endless suffering,
of years wreathing in perpetual chronic pain,
locked within fragile bones and a trapped mind.

So do not curse the gods, my dearest love,
nor get lost in voids of sorrow oblivion.
Know peace has now been brought to my tired soul;
I wait patiently until we are one again.

ego identity recedes

Love is not a word I’m familiar with.

I like to read a book by the fire
with hot cocoa or tea
fairies or dragons
the sound of crackles pulls me away
into a space of inspiration and comfort.

Yet I don’t believe that I love it
My like only goes so far

I like the food my mom prepares
with noodles or fish
fruits or veggies
the taste of citrus beacons me for more
to a plate filled with familial nostalgia.

Yet I don’t believe that I love it
My like only goes so far

Love is not a word I’m familiar with
but the feel of your arms around me,
with your heartbeat and warmth,
occupies my mind where nothing but you exists

The sound of your voice is soothing
with your warmhearted tone and laugh
it becomes a lullaby as I fall fast asleep

Love is not a word I’m familiar with.

But somehow
for some reason
I love you

Premium MemberDear Donna

Someone I used to know I saw today.
It’s been ten years or more I saw her last
although she didn’t live too far away
from where I live, but time goes by so fast.
How gracious this lady named Donna Kay -
who occupies small spaces from my past;
those short conversations I had with her
are fragments that now have become a blur.

There was with this acquaintance no real chat.
I looked at pictures she had drawn instead.
She’d painted! I’d nearly forgotten that.
I also learned she loved the color red.
Next to her red casket her eldest sat.
For ten days now dear Donna has been dead.
Though my whispered words fell on Donna’s shell,
I hope her soul still heard my last farewell.

ALL of us MUST REMEMBER what tiny space one occupies in this world of God's creation.
History will tell the true story and how we manage it.
“The heaven and the heavens belong to the LORD,
but He has given over to mankind the earth to manage."
In some places we are doing good,
but because of many human frailties
we are not doing so well. As we look at the universe,
large as it is and still expanding and we on the tiny earth, a small space.
There are many questions still to be answered.
The challenge of 2025, will it bring success or will it bring other failures??
Merry Christmas and let us celebrate the birth of Christ and the New Year will set pace the generations to come.
I hope and pray that what I’m feverishly trying to say makes sense to the
one that may read without prejudices.

Premium MemberThe Return

A tenebrous void occupies my soul
like a queasy, dark, wintry cloud
hanging low and heavy with sleet and frost.
No gelid wind blows it away
and I despair. I cannot forget the dead.

An empty, lonely chapel still beacons.
It stands alone
amongst the tall dark pines
of an abandoned forest.
Inside, the dim light filters poorly
through dirty broken stained glass.

There's nothing inside but dust.
No chairs, no pews
for the weary traveller.
I sit on the cold slab tomb,
wonder who was laid to rest
inside the sepulchre.
Then did I realise I was alive.
All memories stored deep inside me.
The waking of empathy
especially to the self, is painful.
How oft had I tried to erase
my thoughts on you?

I leave the disused chapel
and return to my empty home.
I still think of you.

In the night's embrace

As the night is deepening, it's drawing toward temptation,
Driving me unknowingly toward romantic imagination.
She occupies me every time, every time she dictates thought.
You just can't get enough of imagination; she is such a sweetheart.
Imagining what if two souls were under the same roof,
Except romance in eyes, there wouldn't be any excuse.
They would have loved, adored; they would be in arms.
They would have unified, melted in each other's warmth.

GOD*
foremost
occupies top
priority in my life...
He's my faith's pinnacle
allowing me to exude serenity
in claiming triumph for reaching-
out pursuits, as my soul basks along blest
divine care, shielded by grace of hope's summit
wafting mercy --- grateful for reconciliation’s bliss
midst pardon's fulfillment from guilt... Now, my heart
cleansed from sin's wages, shares joy of eternal assurance
radiating victory, vibrantly worshipful sans doubt but anchored
by truth, freely soaring midst celestial liberty toward heavenly acme.

I wonder how aware they are,
what shadowy sense of self
occupies their brain. Perhaps
no more than a flicker
of consciousness glows
in the far reaches
of an inner dark,
sufficient to propel them
here and there for food
and find a mate,
just printed circuits of flesh
programmed for survival.

They seem content
in their grace, moving gently
through the sunlit water,
swimming towards me.
What picture do they have
of me. Am I just a shape
categorized by the level
of threat I pose, a button
for them to push to get
a piece of bread, an oddity
in their way.

And yet we are here,
knitted together in this gifted
moment, alive, each encased
in an identity, confined
to our little bubbles of being,
floating the surface
of some infinite
and unfathomable mystery
where all minds meet -
although I'm eternally grateful
that I'm not a swan,
I don't like cold feet.

Only you would know

And that night, amidst the overwhelming sadness of realizing that no one could truly comprehend the depth of my despair, there existed another layer of sorrow. It is a sorrow that no amount of warmth, pressure, or nostalgic memories can alleviate. Your presence, your body, constantly occupies my thoughts as I long to feel your gentle breath against the nape of my neck and yearn to capture your fragrance when I turn to seek solace. But alas, I am cruelly reminded that the only chill on my neck emanates from the frigid air entering through the wide-open window, causing the delicate snowflakes to dance in the room. The only reminder of you is the lingering scent of your "So in Love" perfume on my nightstand. So if it appears selfish of me to hold onto this pain, unable to forgive you for your actions, yet hoping you would release me from this desolation, please understand that it is a particular kind of sorrow, one that only you can comprehend.

the hummingbird
   with its brilliant iridescent
plumage
glittering green body feathers
&other bright colors visits
my garden
                    so tiny
&unique in a niche
      no other bird occupies
oh, how it loves
   a flower's high calorie nectar
with a long bill
             it drinks &drinks
then, hovers with beating wings
       moving forwards
             &backwards
   &twirling
then, just like that
                       gone ...

our light, cleaved from the bosom of God
now eternal and complete, as is He
albeit in a stage of infancy
occupies a body
God creates
and thus in truth
ego is but an interface
for us to navigate this earth life
to ingrain in Self, love, wisdom and power

THE PAIN OF MY PAINS

The pains of my pains ,
Was watching you lying straight
In that wooden bed
Whilst mourning with pain
I knew then
That your eyes are forever closed Mdali .

The pains of my pains ,
Was you leaving me for betrayals
In the hands of whammies and families
So is friends and my enemies .
That was the was my pain .

The lesson which left me with no gain ,
The scars compared none to Abigail.
I cried silent cries for decades ,
Hurdling with my knees
Griplling with my finger nails ,
But still no sign of you or hail .

The pain of my pains ,
Was you leaving me with repos .
Today , it sadens me when I see toddlers .
That angers me when I see mothers ,
This occupies my peace not
When I see others playing mothers .

The pain of my pains
Comes when it rains .
It is then that I see my shelter drains ,
That know it is the end of me,
Whilst neighbors are chanting .
That is my pain .

My pain that echoes everyday when the sun sets
And when the day dawns .
The very same pain that has no prescription
Nor a remedy
And this pain will take me one of the good days

Premium MemberMind of our heart

when mind of our heart ignites the head ovoid
innumerable nodes light up all at once
each aflame with the light of Self
signalling that the dweller of our heart
now occupies the throne it rightfully deserves

when illusionary ego dies, soul flies to new highs
our true life purpose is then revealed in clear light
‘may Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven’
