Anxiety

Anxiety

Racing thoughts fill my brain,
As if they are tearing up the track.
My head pounds like falling rain,
And my heart is under attack.
Is there anything that can end this pain?

My palms are sweating profusely,
Why is everyone staring?
My thoughts are swirling abstrusely,
The bustling voices are blaring,
And I stumble around obtusely.

When will this end?
I’m losing control.
How do I transcend
This dismal state as black as coal
How much longer can I pretend?

Ogre

Ogre

Often he’s a cranky,
Olive-skinned, swamp dwelling,
Obtusely-witted fiend...
Only bathes in mud—eats
Onions, garlic, ...(sniff)... GAS?!!
Ogre’s in the outhouse!!
Oh! My giddy aunt...RUN!

The old man sat on a bar stool all alone.
Acting like a king holding court on his throne.
While most patrons sat absorbed in their phones;
He spoke to any and all in cheerful tones.

I perked up my ears to have myself a listen;
Seems the old guy was a retired physician.
Seeking to learn more about his profession;
I buy him a beer and his eyes they glisten;

He turns on his stool and thanks me profusely.
Beckons me closer, then banters on loosely.
His eyes look me over, though somewhat obtusely.
As he pauses his tale, I ask intrusively;

Tell me about your most interesting case.
“Sorry!” say I, as puzzled look creases his face.
“No worries mate.” As his mind begins to retrace;
Suddenly a saga begins at rapid pace.

I hear his life story in all its glory.
Some of it grand and much of it gory.
I can’t help but think it an allegory.
I even learn his name, Shamus McCrory.

Listening to all his remembering when;
I garnered this one simply amazing gem.
He spoke not once of any “It might have been”
The four saddest words of man’s tongue or pen.

Give Me Something Round

Give me something round
Edges to life should be circular
Beware of the elliptic mystery
Rotate your marbles frequently

Give me something spherical
Two hemispheres in harmony
Held together with super glue
Solid to the core and spiraling

Give me something not Michigan
(Round objects are illegal in Michigan)
Balls and clocks are criminal offenses
Cops eat holes but not the donuts

Give me something curled up
Cylindrical in its composition
Rotund but not too obtusely cute
Circumferences should not be too cute

Give me something more articulated
Orbicular to orbiculated would be great
An object that orbits about itself and others
Held in both hands hollowed out loud

Give me something, anything with a shape
As long as it is not cube or rectangular
Squares and lines are grave mistakes
God forgives that which is angular

Give me something other than zeros
There must be light at the end of the tunnel
Ovals become more circular over time
Edges become less... once questioned

Give me moons surrounded by planets
Give me bald women who look ridiculous
We love them anyway from the bottom up
And the universe they came in on

This desertscape dotted with feathers.
What need? I haven’t a need
for umbilical utensils utterly useless
on a Sanskrit road
long as the maiden’s Genghis apron
white as white gypsum in Alamogordo,
New Mexico.
Here you find blossoming curry spattered across
an ancient horizon
lulled by the dunes rattling the baritone basin,
and in America, in this most united of
Apache - Comanche - Navajo
estates, we gather nations through nuclear
hinges obtusely obliterated at White Sands National.

ominous skies of gloom
orbit through my head
obsessive while oblivious
ornery dragons and
offspring hovering

obtusely perched in
opulent misty glens
of opportunistic prophecy

Premium MemberBeing With a Non Listening Talker

Talking. Talking. Talking. At first it is fun, maybe even entertaining.
You are not sure exactly sure when it turns, but it does.
Suddenly the monopolizer’s ramblings no longer seem charming.
Patience worn thin, you try a few times to interject a word.
There is no pause, no break. Constant talking. Inane talking. Nonsense talking.
You try blatant rudeness. Still no pause.
Suddenly you are annoyed, irritated, angry.
It is the same feeling you get as when you put your turn signal on and watch
Incredulously as six cars and a truck speed up, so you miss your turn off the freeway.
Rudeness personified. Self-centeredness to the inth degree. Magnificently selfish.
I walk away as she obtusely, self-absorbed, is still talking, talking, talking.
She yells after me in a way that indicates that I am the rude one.
I wave, resolving to forevermore avoid this non-listener
like the plaque that she is.

Love

LOVE is Cosmic cause it spells with four Letters individually
L meaning longevity for
O meaning Obtusely with
V meaning Virtuosity behind
E meaning Expression
When others give LOVE a different impression
Its force could either lead or leave you into depression,
Perhaps using it correctly will fulfill you with an ********
Or leave the ****** to stain an imprint,
The power behind LOVE created is infinite or indefinite
Once you believe in love it will show its magnificence,
Perhaps to know LOVE is undiscovered,
Cause they're many whom live covered
With a LOVE to hate,
But to teach you what LOVE is can be a huge mistake,
You should learn what it is through faith,
While your fate leans toward a truthful obligation,
Or having LOVE is our mental masturbation,
Because to determine LOVE should be measured through signs,
Using only four words to spell out to mean LOVE last for a very long time.

Lost Love

Crater
stuck in the centre of my heart
spilling out blood
for you

I am unteathered from this earth
from your tender arms that once held me close
and my world
as it spins obtusely out of control
shrinks all that much more

for the loss of your love
is almost too much to bare

our flame
once burning into the shallow depths of the evening
is now out
without ceremony
my love is discarded and I am left

with these unresolved issues
that go round and around and tear at my heart
longing for the times were were together instead
apart.

Empty Portrait

Once I dared render
A trapping of quintessence
To hold fast all that is you
Somewhere upon my canvas

To capture your beauty
In pastels of feigned adoration
From charcoaled scratched eyes
Slowly her face takes form

Searching yesterdays colours
To recapture the essence of your voice
Now merely a passionate facsimile
Obtusely rendered in penciled arrogance

My sketching comes from experience
Tracings of agony felled of your eyes
From the easels edge drips my anguish
Now a morass union of passivity

How I long to feel the heat of your fiery spirit…

Open

24-7
 365
 MORE THAN JUST MY EYES
 YOU GOT ME
 "OPEN"

I'M WONDERING WHAT KEY YOU GOT
CAUSE YOU GOT ME ON LOCK
HANDS OF TIME ON MY WATCH ROTATE 360 DEGREES
LIKE FOUR TIMES BEFORE I RUN OUT OF LINES
I'M "OPEN"

OBTUSELY WIDE
ABANDONED FIELD WHERE HONEY HIPS AND LOVE LANES TRAVEL MILD
PLANES WITH NAVEL DIPS AND HONEY MILK HILLS
 VALLEYS OF NOOKS AND CRANNIES
 BODY HEAT BLANKET
LOSS OF BRA AND PANTIES
 7-11 I'M "OPEN"

DRUGS, LIQUOR, CHOCOLATE COCAINE
IN YA MIND FRAME
SAY MY NAME YOU ARE "OPEN"

IF I COULD EXPLAIN THE WAY MY HEART HAS LEFT MY TEMPLE
 MY BODY FRAME AND HAS
 ATTACHED ITSELF TO ANOTHER BEING
YOU WOULD THINK I WAS INSANE IN MY MEMBRANE

I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY I CAN'T GET OFF MY HIGH
O.D’ED LIKE A FIEND
CAN'T CLOSE MY EYES NOR MY LIMBS
 CAN'T STOP THIS ATTACKING PHASE
I MAY BE NOT CLOSE TO YOUR AGE
BUT I GOT SOME DYNAMIC WAYS TO KEEP YOU
"OPEN"

LIKE THE OLD NEW YORK CITY TOKENS
THERE IS A SPACE IN MY "BEING" THAT SHOULD BE FILLED
I GET CHILLS NEEDING THRILLS
IF I TELL YOU AGAIN THAT I'M
 "OPEN"
 CLOSE THE DOOR
LAY ME DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND
 BEGIN TO CLOSE ME.
NOTHING MORE
