Obliqueness Poems

Such obstreperous obliqueness
filling a guess.

Blissful in my obliviscence,
warm in silence.

Opulent eyes obfuscate words,
I feel swords.

All those obsequious rewards,
they mean absolutely nothing.
You’re unequivocally bluffing.

Filling a guess warm in silence I feel swords.

Through a Filter of Scum

Don't eat the shellfish
the sea filters through
Every thing is a dichotomy
they say in the end
This obliqueness
sows it's wild oats in
the forest where only
small shreds of light
make their way to the
ground
A starlight is worth a
multitude of sound,
a one liner, a lyric,
a pun, a religion,
you and me
and all we have on this
Earth
was meant to mean
good things to some

Premium MemberA Sad Tale of Woe

Long ago and far away a princess fair
With bright blue eyes and golden hair
Lived in a magnificent castle so grand
When a gallant prince asked her hand,
And swore his everlasting adoring love
An oath of fealty he swore with a dove
And placed on her finger a band of gold
‘Twas never a more beautiful story told,
Then one day in a moment of weakness
He plunged headlong in sad obliqueness
Forgetting the solemn vows he’d made
And with another he in pleasure laid.
Never again was his marriage the same
It seemed, at times, like a boring game
The princess knew something was amiss
Something missing from the prince’s kiss,
But she never knew about his shame
Nor could he tell her he was to blame
And so, they lived their lives in disarray
Because of one brief adulterous foray.

The moral is that one failing one time
Can destroy a marriage once so sublime.

Red Or Blue

Faith is an attempt to coerce
truths responsibility
Implicit restricting through
ones viability
Power depending on ones
fear or weakness
Remains stubborn with
frameworks obliqueness
Violence has no place in
this character by design
By which I am vicariously
compelling to all realign
All have the right to believe
different from others
Regardless of religion we
are still sisters and brothers
So true if you identify as
either color of red or blue
Its to humanity whom we
should always stay true
Realize my thoughts aren’t
as you, yourself think
Our countries downfall
could now be on the brink
I don’t foresee all others to
share my opinion
Are we all not human and
not someone’s minion
Give respect for our differences
and understand
What our founding fathers
expected in this new land

Today as any day,
No more, No less.
Programmed obliqueness.
Awakening,
Shower to clean,
Breakfast to UN-fast.
PC and Poetry, for the mind,
Wal-Mart to refurbish,
Then we dine.
PBS,
PC and Poetry,
Card game and munch.
Supper,
TV,
Then, bedtime.
Today as any day,
No more, No less,
Scheduled obliqueness.
Silently, more or less.

Before It Becomes Such

A lustful obsession
Mistrustful connection
Sullied reflection
Imagined dream

In passion, seamed
A thought intertwined
Lost, enshrined
In a fanciful bliss

Romantic mist
The kiss of shattered
enchantments
Romantic’s blood
Frantic

Spill of scattered hopes
Battered ropes untwisted
Mind ballistic
A maddened heart, ablaze

A fire’s sparkling rage
Desire lost in plagues
Of fantasy unfilled
Magic’s backfiring

Tragic transpiring
Demise of hopes to love
Soured dove
Depleted of sweetness

Darkness sewn in obliqueness
An ocean’s drowning deepness
Chokehold of disparity
Disposed of clarity

Mineswept in the meadows
Of his heart
The unrequited spark
I must leave!!!
I must leave!!!

Before it all
Becomes such!!!
*Before It Becomes Such*

Hereward College - a New Hope

So much hope for understanding bright,
Larking sombrely, vertical as a servant,
Reluctance explained, quite irreverent,
For the first time feeling justified, right,
No matter the obliqueness of my plight;
But I could not certain issues circumvent,
Even though I risked an unstable mind,
Nearly there, almost ninety percent tight,
But not completely at the table spread;
I pull myself together with both hands,
Facing the community, my world given,
Steadfast guardians need a talking bed;
Conversation is sway and will enliven,
But disappointment visits me in strands.

Are You Skew-Whiff

Are You Skew-Whiff?

				Are you feeling rather skew-whiff?
Awkwardly placed and standing?
		upside-down
		back to front
		inside out
		topsy - turvy
Are your senses damp and unresponsive,
					Beckoning confusion and despair?
Does your heart pound even when there’s nothing exciting there?

   Forlorn, sorrowful, despondent,
			     You patronise your grief,
	      						Focus on your problem,
		To attain some relief;
You keep flitting to your pleasures,
Lack, for contemplation, a quiet place,
Force your troubles into the backroom,
You’re not to dignify your face.
								Tomorrow is for thinking,
	    Will exist to accommodate,
			The glumness and the wretchedness,
That seems to obliqueness and gloom proliferate.
