Obediently Poems | Examples

Carbon dating

I'd been sleeping poorly what with my agonies
needed an early morning nap but
at a ratatatat on the front door I jerked awake and
obediently open up, a respectable couple not
this time trying to get me to switch my energy supplier or
join the young communists but
'We're from The Sun'
asking me if I had any thoughts on the 'Love Island House'

Excuse me what

She mentioned a house number and I blearily
glanced across the road at
the house recently painted in blue and pink
mumbling, I really don't care about it
'Could we use your name'
but I'm not deranged enough to give them that, and

It turns out it wasn't the house opposite but further along
beyond my eyeline,
I'd seen it tarted up with lights
seems it's been called out by a disgruntled neighbour
"The house is lit up like a building from Las Vegas"
and The Sun was frothing at the thought
of a Love Island related story and bothered me
Lee Holloway Towers in his fretful slumbers

Not my problem baby and
I will never sleep again

Premium MemberRevolve

There's an endless cycle of living,
Where it's not always good or all bad.
It's constantly circling around taking and giving,
Seemingly lost, like a chaotic nomad.

While surviving along the two-dimensional plane,
Appearing to obediently follow only that of time.
One can only search about aimlessly,
For some reason to an obtuse rhyme.

However blind, there is a direction, that
Leads to an unforgiving cause and effect.
When the sums may become insurmountable,
No matter the levels of disrespect.

Yet beyond this flat, geometric reasoning,
Alternatives are seen, not from a circle, but a sphere.
As a multitude of tangents take new form,
Bringing new hope, along with old fear.

This revolution seeks to close its own circle,
Though its path will be curvilinear in its quest.
Since its journey may evolve with new experience,
Allowing for growth in the universal test.

Night on the Seine

Night on The Seine
1939

Silver and gold from city lights
daub the black river
like brush strokes from VanGogh.

The Seine
murmurs against La Rive Gauche
where dreams of artists linger,
then turns to glide obediently against La Rive Droite
where politicians drink cognac
and talk of war.

We are in the middle of Time
in a small boat.
“You cannot leave me!” she commands.
“Of course not,” is my assurance.
“I shall neither be called nor needed."

"We have built the great Maginot Line,
and The Ardennes is too wooded to cross.
It is all talk, anyway."

The city drifts slowly by -

Le Grand Palias and Le Concorde
Champs Elysees,Notre Dame,

Swifter now - like the time,

"It would be madness to destroy such beauty."

“Besides, the British have pledged to come.”

In Front Of The Class

In front of the class
she obediently stands
her fingers locked in cradled hands
with downcast eyes and trembling lip
she leaks a tear that sears her soul
then meekly voiced
and barley heard
she mumbles what she thinks the teacher wants.

Premium MemberI Don'T Understand

Us obediently unaware; the water is getting higher
Sharks of every shape swimming circles conspire;
How did we allow this broken plain to land;
Obviously; the break was visible in that wire
When did you decide to ignore this, electrical fire
Feelings mean little; judged by where you stand
Everyone, even me, needs to feel some desire
Alone has never been; what I truly require
Ripped down the middle; our bed a sinking island;
How can I stop this; from getting more dyer
Are you prepared to receive that legal flier;
Right or Wrong; I can not fix, what I don't understand

Premium MemberMexican Sunset

When the sun nestles into the horizon
I ponder whether ‘twill be my last sunset
Glorious display in splendorous bedizen
Surely, the most beautiful I’ve seen yet,

Dipping low ‘neath the shimmering sea
Across the bay from old Puerto Vallarta
I can’t think of any place I’d rather be …
Not Majorca, not even in old Djakarta.

The western sky turns orange and red
With streaks of yellow running through
While the sun obediently lowers its head
Emotions rise; my darling, I think of you.

I long to return to the Mexican Riviera,
To watch the world’s most lovely sunset
The bay sparkling like a diamond tiara,
As peaceful and calm as I’ll ever get.

Hard Lessons

Happy is the man with no dog
for the memory of 'no'
walks obediently beside him
and that absence needs no leash.

Happy is the woman betrayed,
divorced from her long delusions.
Her aloneness sings now in her heart,
she learns to enjoy the hunger
it feeds her strength.

Sad is the person who clings,
who chases moonbeams
with butterfly nets.
Sad the person
who's 'wants' outrun their needs,

for their lamp may shrink,
become so small and hard to see.

An Unknown Force Saves All Ofcourse

There is an unknown force monitoring
At no time it will be wrongly erring

It possesses indeed colossal potential
Its presence to stabilize is essential

Massive clout is had by that force
It only protects this World of course

Without gap, it is bringing real safety
That force is called as the Almighty

It makes flowers bloom and rain fall
It will bring true peace of mind to all

For happiness, it is totally responsible
With its support, anything is possible

It knows the future happenings fully
And it performs miracles skillfully

It controls the Cosmos with power
It will act against holy Justice never

That force alone helps all souls live
Great boons, it will give and forgive

Seek that force and obediently pray
Say your grievance to happily stay.

Another Autumn Arrival

Emerald leaves, tall-standing trees A stronghold of burly branches
At Mother Nature’s gentle whisper Colourfully, a canopy transforms and unveils
Burnt oranges, rich crimsons, and butternut golds Jewelled leaves radiate in the September sun

Then in perfect harmony, Mother Nature sings again, this time with Old Man Winter The two foreshadow foliage’s imminent, hue-darkened demise
Yet, those lovely leaves persevere and perform, obediently and graciously Hence, one by one, they descend and succumb

Perhaps, I too, need to heed the loving ways of Mother Nature
To mirror the change of seasons within my own wounded heart and mind And then, gracefully like the leaves
Embrace the time to glimmer and the time to let go

Premium MemberRedeemed By God's Grace

Redeemed* by God’s grace toward eternal regeneration
Offering to the Lord am I my everything obediently
Called as His child along His compassion and care
Hoisted for faith increase through fervent prayer height
Loving my Saviour, and for Him, gladly living
Learning from His Word with great lessons
Ever-faithful to Him, aiming for His exaltation.

In the Almighty can my testimony create good impact
Thankful am I to Him for trials toward triumphs
Letting Him direct me with His wise leadership
Instilling in me truth needed for godly influence
Only around His fellowship is peace-optimization
Nourished so well by His blessed nurture…
Gratitude fills my heart as I serve Him with gladness.

*Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee,
… and he that formed thee, … Fear not: for I have redeemed thee,
I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Disappointing Hero

With a rescue package that won’t pick up
Being steadily hit by a hiccup
And prices jacking up
Should we still treat him like a hero
Who has scored a shameful zero?

Still him obediently follow
And this taking to tomorrow?
Ourselves consoling with laughs hollow
And him sparing a ripe bellow?
Or isn’t the disappointing Hero
Some sort of Caesar Nero

A name penned with common biro?

Premium MemberOver-Run By Muses

At best, I am a stenographer:
the Muse dictates...and I write;
the Muse seeming all the
inspiration, a constellation
of wit and style – while I, a
single star – an abysmal one
at that...having enough spark
to mildly gleam, however, left little
more dignity than to obediently
listen and record –

It seems to me this way
with all forms of endeavor:
Reactionary! to traffic lights,
weather, pets, mates – and, of
course, our God and His Fates –

Lord, am I this, only...made to
be a mere puppet? At my zenith
another worthy Muppet....

Not From Here

No one is from this earth,
But I am a unique case.
I never fully left heaven through birth.
Being gifted and superimposed by God’s grace.

My feet are on the ground,
But my mind is way up in the sky,
Far above the heavens is where I’m found,
Where God Himself resides.

Though I walk this sordid earth in short,
I’m surrounded by His glorious peace,
Placed within a warming holy transport,
Awaiting the right time to return home to Thee.

I can only flip on this everlasting conduit switch,
After I fully live out my life’s mission here.
I tread this path on eternal ground enriched,
Desiring to obediently wholly adhere.

My spirit is with my loving Father’s presence,
For I have never truly left His essence.
He shares His Fatherly love with me in grace,
With omnipotent power, as I seek and see His face.

Without regard for strengths or faults,
He perfectly loves me with eternal increase.
Tenderly He heals me as He exalts,
Filling me with His awesome hope and peace.

I withstand the blows which come my way,
For He hides me safely in our secret place.
I take refuge in our sweet, glorious heaven,
For I’m not from here, but there, sent in His holy procession.

Premium MemberFollowing One's Destiny

Against life, one should never revolt

But

Obediently he ought to follow her wise lead to

Wherever she decides him to take

For

Life knows better one’s nature and the laws

That govern it

Thus

One has to become as complied as the waters of the river

That

Follow the river’s banks all the way to the

Estuary,

Never trying to hinder the waters’ flow but

To hasten it

For

It is the only way, one, could his destination sooner than

Later reach

And

His destiny's goal to realize!
