Ten gentle reminders

Ten gentle reminders for a fragile numbskull:

1. I have permission to be asinine, unconstrained. Meaning, impractical, fantasy-driven, shameless.

2. I will wile away time and be carefree, I will lick my wounds and self-indulge. I will be hard to watch.

3. There will be chaos on my plate and in my guts, and I will not do the laundry or clean the toilet.

4. Hair will be disheveled, both my face and dress pockmarked, there will be no cologne or makeup.

5. I will not read or write, I will not learn or grow. I will splash in the shallow waters of a small puddle.

6. Payments, made on time, to keep the dopamine and serotonin flowing as my heart still beats.

7. Breaking schedules, contracts, and engagements I don't like or change my mind about bc y not.

8. I make things work sometimes because I was a gifted child but it didn't work out. Bad luck.

9. I am better off than I should be given all that's happened, but it doesn't matter. Mad luck.

10. What’s the point? None, so nothing is in vain. See #1 for reference and reminder, you fragile numbskull.

Premium MemberBRAINS

Eating them won’t make you smarter
Flying them, frying them won’t make you high
Scraping them off the pavement
Certainly, won’t make you fly
Peeling them off some stickers
May certainly make you laugh and cry
At the same time like me
Synchronicity
There’re always two sides to every coin
Just like there are two halves for every brain
The left and the right may just hold a private conversation
Inside the skull, my numbskull sculling time
Scrolling through my mind
Perhaps, this is the time
I reach out to another
Other person with some brains
Who believes like me and who's not insane:
For some unknown reason
Eating poetrysoup
Really satisfies my brains

Lost Chicago

How incandescent she, glance for what he's trembling for.
The dillusional inside sparks brightest like never,
seedlings of hopes arouses fancy over.

Hours left by gossiping, some mornings included.
Retrouvaille he lost within.
Utter-oblivion yappings relentlessly they carried, seem never off to demise.
No cappings could ever replace his, nor her rebukes could.

How numbskull he! Moron dreamed of love and she friendship.
Wella! A little effort supposed to,
Heavy burden, yet devoid of courage.

Fiance she got, bride of a brat.
Faded he turned.
Late enough for a change.

Roads diverged.
She left on own path, he forced to own.
Yet, she found someone and he's trembling to get over.

An unrequited love all is it?
His chicago never unveiled.

Premium MemberThe Numbskull Brigade

The numbskull brigade was in town making us feel intimidated.
Running over manuscripts over which we had been elated.
Our tender feelings were hurt, they did not like our wording at all.
And they were mean and blustery, and about sixteen hands tall.

You make publishing impossible, we little writers screamed.
They laughed at us and threw us into triple cake all creamed.
We came out loving the frosting, which made us feel better.
Here's our advice they said. Try first to write a letter.

Great Plays Made When He Played

want to have big blast
open mike is part of past
we have a podcast

about poets heard
a numbskull as well as nurd
each word was absurd

did discover a device
would encourage and entice
sufficient and suffice

remained in remorse
so did rode another horse
who would stay on course

Reminds me of "Stopping by
Woods on a Snowy Evening"
by Robert Frost.

when new poem would find
was bad and am in a bind
had to leave behind

had been a renegade
they loved way that he had played
brave and not afraid
(into past would fade)
(magnificent plays made)
(leader of parade)

Am sure you can understand
who I am referring to.

Urban Centers

Towers, new or old,
Stay grounded, slim or fat,
Draped bright or in mold,
Wearing hats, fancy or plain flat,

For some masquerade never to end.

Towers, tall or short,
Gaze below, gleefully or brooding,
Around their feet, mobility like in field of sport,
low humming in parking lots and malls, intruding,

Upon the silence of a peaceful sunset.

Towers, lively or dull,
Bear the midday sun drilling their wrinkles,
Sulking morbidly like some numbskull.
One day older, by the time a star twinkles.

Urban life drenched in various colours from dawn to dusk.

(Written in a parking lot of an urban center, while waiting for my son to finish work)

Premium MemberThe Aghori

Fiery Aghori
told us his story,
invoking seance,
to see spirits dance.

He knows all is one
but deeds to be done
in darkness of night,
require we shed fright.

Spirits aid his cause,
seeking no applause,
for there’s no one here,
save bliss beats that spear.

Love drenched empathy,
by telepathy
infuses intent,
as divine current.

Thus cause and effect,
sans ego defect,
is set in motion
without commotion.

Though he’s eccentric,
love pulse concentric,
as ripples in space,
echo but God’s grace.

He is no numbskull,
yet drinks from a skull,
mocking death itself,
for soul’s his true Self.

Ostracise him not,
for he is self-taught,
unlike most of us,
who dark fears nonplus.

Spirits that appear,
too to God are dear
and the Aghori,
whose ways seem gory.

Premium MemberRight On Time -- Or Ten Minutes Early

Dad was forever in a hurry
His life filled with tension and worry
He always had to be right on time
If not, he preferred ten minutes early

A terror behind the wheel of his car
He cursed at Heaven and the stars
He'd ride the tail of a slowpoke
Here are names that he'd invoke

You moron, you idiot, you jerk!
You're making me late for work
Nincompoop, numbskull, and pea-brain
  You're slower than a worn-out freight train

Dad, of course, was 100% right
And always ready for a fight
'Til the day this came out from my little brother
~ 'That moron drives like my friggin grandmother!'

Many More Horn Haiku

God removed all fears
wiped away all of the tears
as our twilight nears

elasticity
along with the strategy
is a tragedy

had been way out far
still alive and already are
became raising star

facts we have to face
God will give out love and grace
all over the place

Miniscule Tool for a Fool

outside is now cool
had seem a miniscule tool
found in swimming pool

on God will rely
never needed alibi
pray hard always try

could hear trump complaint
picture he did poorly paint
caused his friends to faint

trump did become defiant
refused to be complaint
should remain silent

trump seemed so shoddy
he had horrible body
numbskull and naughty

Trump Had a Pet Gull

Trump Had Pet Gull

Trump's best friend was a pet gull,
Who like him did become very dull,
Self adoring;
Very  boring;
No feelings in brain and numbskull.

Visit To Manicurist Taken By a Tourist

Visit to Manicurist Taken by a Tourist

There are so many things that I must endure
But oh no not another numbskull manicure
Including not only fingers but all of my toes
And then longer everyday each nail grows.

Could they actually color nails of a man?
And have feet soaked in a portable pan
While your wife ends up in state of denial
Until all my nails they finally start to file.

Are handsome and beautiful both related?
If so, why by God were we all procreated
When all that I wanted was peace of mind
Plush color to nails be permanently assigned.

Life's All About Choices

This sonnet was written after reading a news article on the internet about the Swedish
Wrestler Ara Abrahamian's misconduct at the awards presentation after failing to win the
gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was awarded the bronze medal for his
performance. He took the bronze from around his neck during the medal ceremony, stepped
from the podium and dropped it in the middle of the wrestling mat and then walked off.

Fate is chance, destiny is choice. Swedish
Wrestler Ara Abrahamian chose
The latter. He should have been admonished
For his bitter behavior that arose
Shortly after medals presentations.
Character lacked more than his wrestling holds
claiming it was politicization.
The arrogance of him! "I wanted gold"
saying, "I don't care about this medal."
His disgrace was his choice, we all heard that
of course. More importantly, this numbskull
audaciously dropped his bronze on the mat
sealing both his fate and his destiny:
infamy, obscurity guaranteed.

* August 16, 2008, 12:09 PM the International Olympic Committee finally reprimanded
Abrahamian. They stripped him of his medal.
