To the spiritual elite.
He doesn't have a bag of surprises
Distributed on a whim
Leukaemia for you
Long life for her
Alzheimer's or dementia or a road traffic accident for him.
He doesn't mete out chance events
Based on our choices
The sound of our voices
The town of our birth
Our place on the earth
The state of our hearts
Our love of the Arts
Our reliance on science
Our sin.
He never has promised that life will be fair
Or tragedies rare
Simply he tells us
Because of his son
All that he is
All he has done
In the light and the dark
In joy and in pain
Perceived or
Ignored
Trusted or
Doubted
He will be there

Virtuous she is, the strength she holds,
Erratic she be, but beautiful is thee,
Ravishing art thee, she is a dream,

don't go to him
he looks so kind
he looks so neat
but deep inside
he is like a brick
like a rock in the water
dry and thick.

Seeing aisles of messy shelves
Before a shopper even delves
Is a horrible curse
Which Whole Foods can reverse
With stockers who were Santa's elves
And Maricel was her sweet name
The first maiden who charmed my heart
In sixth grade then, when we were young
Her sweet smile glimmered like the sun
In place named after rice fields
We had some exchange of sweet smiles
Her sweet glance, I could not forget
Her charm then that could go for miles
But then, I wandered faraway
And years have passed, she was taken
And so my heart was taken too
And went through shades of gray and blue
And in this place, I came back
Cherishing days of puppy love
I still wish that one true love
Will fall to me in struck of luck
