Reserata Carcerem L

Yond odd orb apared asp cruised crawl
'f hurled hymns hoisted sanity sprawl;
'f cherubic sways marred mercies crave -
t' savor sumptuous stray sanct'ty sprayed.

Ah! Wanky winds bore sewn syll'bles -
furred fabrics meshed b' tide's lips dribbled.
Quav'ring quake teased apt awe - ruined rage;
cramped Cynthia cum azure 'neath raved.

"Seekest what you, ho!", fabrics rent.
Scurried for agora - paunch spelled,
asp basked 'n awe mocked hampered haste's rage;
quiv'ring quotient quoth bruised ire rained.

B' sassy sulphur writ 'n th' Rex visage,
baked was apared asp - mission mazed.

The Wonder That Precedes the Thunder

I haven't got what it takes to quit
'just play my hand n' get on with it
some might pray or say it's written in the stars
Holding up answers with exclamation marks
toss an easy catch, all passions are released!
strike another match, noncommittal and care-free

you wanna' slow't down, then I'm gonna' get off
'paid for my ticket, now I'm not gonna' stop
'swear it's like a habit to be hoodwinked n' short changed
but this time we're gonna' go the whole, damn way
this time I'll go the, whole, damn way

down in the valley we were almost lost
with the sounds of the river n' the light so soft
th' jury dispersed when the judge didn't show
th' accused left standing n' th' case was never closed
deft slight of hand, murder in the first degree
void of reprimand, footloose n' fancy-free

the wraith on your mast and your blinking ****
will guide my stars until my days are done
but did you ever stop for a moment t'ponder
the loneliness of the wonder that precedes the thunder
the loneliness of the wonder that precedes the thunder

A Hillbilly Gets New Carpet

A Hillbilly Gets New Carpet

By Elton Camp

I got a magazine at th’ thrift store
Give an idea I didn’t have before
Rich folks carpets their whole floor
So th’ planks you can’t see no more

I saved my money fer a long while
And decided to give carpet a trial
Hit’s a good thing our house is small
Three rooms, an’ we covered it all

Hit’s so soft and warm to my feet
To git up mornings is now a treat
No wind through cracks ’n th’ floor
I’se so glad I went to th’ carpet store

So, I don’t think I’se putting on airs
To add th’ carpet to th’ porch stairs
Hope nobody will think I’se a louse
If I runs it all the way to th’ outhouse

SPIRITS OF TH' SAINTS,ACKNOWLEDGE MY PLEAS...
HERE IN THIS DARKNESS,MY SOUL IN DIRE'NESS CALLS
TH' CHOSEN OF GOODNESS' SAKE,CRY 'LONG ON TH' WINDS
PREPAREST THY REGIMENTS,FOR AN CAVALRY WE IMPLORE THEE

FILLEST OUR VESSELS,LADEN US WITH THY VERACITY
UPON NOBLE STEED,SET US TO REIGN UNCONQUERABLE
FOR COMPARED TO OUR ENEMY,'VEN SODOM'S SINS ARE FRIVOLOUS
TARRY NOT,I BEG THY PARDON...TO HASTEN LIVELY

OUR VANGAURD DEPLETED,ONLY TH' STEAD'LY REMAIN
THOUGH INTREPIDLY WE FIGHT,THEIR FORCES MULTIPLIETH PERPET'D
TH' PASTURES OF OUR INHERITANCE,SPRAWL ROUGE'LY BLEMISHED
NEVER THAN LESS STANDING GROUND,TO OUR COMMANDER I'M TRUE

AS TH' THUNDER ROARETH 'BOVE US,I SENSE HOOF'ND PACE...
FAITHFUL N' TRUE,'PON TH' THIGH OF FIRST RACED...
ALL GRAVES FORFEIT SOULS,PROVIDING NEW BIRTHS...
FINALLY,WE ARE DELIVERED...
