Proverbs 1:8 “My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”
When I was a child, fresh and new
she gave me her smile, her beautiful smile
and when I was feeling down, so blue
she gave me love that is always in style
when I was little, like a young pup
she gave me her light, her gentle light
falling across my life so I’d listen up
she gave me hope that it would be alright
when I was small, an innocent child
she gave me her grace that would calm
rising up to reassure me, so meek and mild
she gave me her heart, almost like a psalm
when I was just a girl, no more than five
she gave me hope that I’d see the light of day
because of her I know that love will survive
she gave me a love that I can only say…
is love that will heal, even the darkest pains
it is fulfilling, offering hope even when it rains
my mother loves without locking me in chains
light to my spirit, her blood runs through my veins
As Mother’s Day is here, I’d simply like to say
Thank GOD for my Mom, who always made a way
Thank God for my Mom, who I’ll always pray
Keeps me in her heart, where I hope to stay….
always a part of this lady who saves the day!
