Poem and Child

A poet gives birth to a poem,
Just as a mother gives birth to a child.
Lo! How innocent and mild!
Then comes day another;
The child looks after its mother
When it becomes grown;
So, does a poem take care of its poet,
When it becomes well-known.

I like the way you present your poem from both ends of the spectrum. The mother starts off caring for the child, age/illness factor in and the child then cares for the mother... the poet puts thought and love into creating a poem, the poem in turn brings positives back to the writer. I like your unique interpretation. The inspiration I get from your poem is that "what goes around comes around" .. our actions determine the outcome most times. And our attitude. Thank you for your unique offering to the contest 🙂🌸✨️✍️
