"In times past, said Santa, I'll admit, I have failed to live up to my name.
Like you, I shunned poor Rudolph, seeing his nose was not the same.
We bullied, making him sad, refusing to admit him to the game.
That lesson was learned when he saved us,(much to our shame.)
Another chance is presented. You see, Rudolph has come up lame.
So, let us rise to this challenge!", we heard Santa Claus exclaim.
"For too long, we've been unequal, for greater character we must aim.
It's time to give the honored position, in the front, to a dame!"
Donner scoffed, “we’ll get lost now and Rudolph is the one to blame!.
When Clarice flew by them, all the reindeer cheered her name,
And decided unanimously they would be proud if she came...
For she was fast as lightning, and they weaved her traces through the hame.
Why oh why asked Old Lady Spry
Do they always die without saying bye?
Her husband Kai let out a loud sigh
Put eggs on high that he was trying to fry
This is a true story, assured my neighbor Vi
Kai’s omelet included warm cheese of brie.
I knew it right away, ‘cause I am sort of a spy.
I can see in their window if I really try.
Their house is a bit of a challenge, a real pigsty.
This is almost the full truth; I rarely tell a lie.
Persnickety Lady Spry winks and always says “hi”.
She gave my husband a Santa Christmas tie.
It was nothing the old hag had to go out and buy.
Repurposed from her deadbeat ex-husband Cy.
Vi then gave us a good-bye, for she had to fly.
Heading to Canada with Ty, her new guy.
He’s super sweet, backwards, and weirdly shy
But I might be in love with this goof-pot said Vi.
She falls in love fast had stated Old Lady Spry.
This is the truth, my friends, for I do not lie.
Hobby horse watched as Peter touched the train with awe.
Teddy bear was watching snowman, glad he was not about to thaw.
Puppy put his head down to think about a lovely winter gnaw.
Amid Christmas tree, drums, and seesaw.
Yelling “ha ha ha!” Christmas mouse jumped out of the holly.
Lit by a streetlight that is hidden in a wreath with an elf so jolly.
The elf shook her head around and whispered “my name is Molly.”
The mouse pulled her out of the brambles and renamed her Dolly.
Santa is on the road, ready to fly.
It’s raining in Minnesota, no lie.
He scratches his snowy beard with a sigh.
Reindeer and sleigh will not get very high.
Kids must get their gifts so he says goodbye
to Mrs. Claus and the elves that certify
the flight though it’s raining tonight. Red-eye
of chief elf unique, it breaches each sky.
Gifts must be delivered by North Pole guy.
It’s raining, no snow, unusual sky
with Minnesota travel that’s bone dry
of flurries. Request of Santa’s supply
though the weather is not frightful, no lie.
He came. He went. Cookies and milk bye-bye.
Our favorite reindeer, Donner was way too old to fly
He had arthritis in his ankles, his knees and his thigh
The rest of us reindeer built him a contraption to fly.
Now we take him along, and some ask us why.
He cheers us up and inspires us with barely a try.
He spurs us to do our best, and won’t let us cry.
We cannot give up, for he is our cheerleader guy.
Donner makes the trip pleasant, said new reindeer, Cy.
Sleigh Bells
Those who believe are hearing
Santa’s sleigh bells nearing
Loved ones endearing
Gifts we’re bringing
Jingling bells are ringing
Youth are singing
If you just listen
Reunions we’ll bliss in
Icey snowmen glisten
Scarlet poinsettias on display
Midnight mass exult in pray
Carolers chant ‘jingle all the way’
Prancing of reindeer on roofs
Imbued their paws with magical hoofs
Lies upon Santa, the burden of proof
It’s that time of year
Of merriment and good cheer
Joy to all, Christmas is here
Let's greet one another with joyous cheer
This holiday season of vibrant gear!
Let's have good partnership with friends as dear
Midst hearty laughter of jubilant steer!
Let's triumph in kindness over pain's tear
While spreading hopeful bliss beyond our sphere!
Let's share peace-gifts with others, far or near
Along prayer of love and peace, sincere!
Let's all have a merry Christmas so clear
Praising God* Who cares throughout all the year!
*Psalm 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

"I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Three Christian Churches here used to play
Their hymns rang out along the way
They took turns with their chimes each day
Never overlapped come what may
How I miss those sweet bells of old
They rang out through warm, hot and cold
Their songs of love, peace, joy were told
Before our world its soul to evil sold
Those hymns at Christmas time so dear
And carols ringing so strong and clear
On each street corner there was no fear
No illegal drugs around this small town here
Could this world normalize again
People spread out and grow some hens
Have some goats, ducks, and a weathervane
To go into town maybe catch a train
While 'pon that ride the bells ring out
Now that is what I'm talking about
Places where love can be planted and sprout
Those days can be good without a doubt
I want a silver tree because I did not get one in sixty-three
She was adamant about it, my great granny Fee.
We gave her one for Christmas, feeling lots of glee.
Didn’t remember they were ugly, said disappointed she.
Why did you want one? Asked her great grandson Lee.
Because everybody on the block got one except for me.
My daddy said they were ugly, she said with a tee hee.
We ribbed her about this forever, loved teasing granny Fee.
In December every tree has a potential to be
A Christmas tree, if you ask my brother and me
We walk through the woods, and both of us see
Every single oak, elm and maple as a Christmas tree.
This is the tale of the butterfly that danced
by the light of the moon --and its song-- entranced
(it's possible, without having even glanced
like: unicorns are real-- just horses enhanced
and perhaps Santa's reindeer --on Christmas-- pranced
Believe!-- if your imagination's advanced)
...well, this butterfly by the Moon was romanced
throwing caution to the wind, its safety-- chanced
free-floating, no choreography financed
way past her curfew -- understand, if you canst...
Angry monster faerie thought she wanted to be
Decorated to the max, like a Christmas Tree
The lights were itchy, she said, believe me!
And the tutu was scratchy, like a bumble bee.
I will never again let anyone decorate me.
She was angry and irritated, scratching a flea
Who had been attracted to the Christmas Tree
Which made her so angry, she forgot to have tea.
Oh did you see the Christmas bee?
She bows her head, she takes a knee
All of these gestures she does respectfully
She likes to be called Elfy Melfy mee.
We had lights made that were so tiny
They were teensy, actually, totally wee
Then we put them on the Christmas bee
She flies around Elfy melfy mee
Animals came alive on my new Christmas tree
In a vintage blue car from about forty-three
I heard the zebra first, he yelled out, “Whee!”
Elephant was coaxing them to go to New York City.
I know that you think I am fibbing or being witty.
My imagination is not that great, it’s not pretty.
A chimpanzee grabbed my chin and was kind of spit-ty.
I was so irritated I encouraged them to go to New York City.
