Gods Ink Blots

He really should use
a ballpoint pen
ink blots are hard to remove,
and they can mask our reality.
The blots form mysteriously
shaped smears and smudges
that conceal rather than reveal.

We who avidly read His works
are apt to badly misinterpret.
He should have learned to type,
or at least used a computer,
but no

and now all we have are
these mysterious word-puzzles
many of which
are half-hidden between
speculation and conjecture.

Premium MemberI'M Just a Cat

I'm just a cat now on my own.
Please show some respect and watch your tone..
Just an old cat but it's come to my attention
that you view me with suspicion and apprehension.
I'm just a cat who longs to forget how some
people misinterpret it..
I'm just a cat whose running out of lives.
Don't need to be retraumatized..
Just an old cat in a self-reflective zone,
only seeking acceptance in their new home.

Perfection

Perfection
By Michelle Morris
25/01/2023

You look at them
And see perfection
But you're only seeing
A mere reflection

Reflections of your hopes
Reflections of your dreams
Reflections of your perceptions
Reflections of your meaning

No family is perfect
No relationship is perfect
No person is perfect
No life is perfect

Behind every smile
Behind every door
People are complex
People are unsure

We look at others
We see them through our eyes
We often misinterpret
The world that goes by

Our souls were made perfect
Our mortal shells less so
We aspire to perfection
We aspire to be our best selves

Focus on your blessings
Focus on love and light
Leave perfection for our Creator
And let your soul glow bright enough

Your News In Print

This just in,
earth is careening toward an asterisk,
speeding toward a footnote,
alien podiatrists are monitoring.
Elephants have moved in-land
refusing interviews to the press.

In other news,
sinkholes have been rescued
from children’s ears.
Cyclonic swirls of pelicans
have created a weather front
scientists are stumped.
Excuses from discredited experts
have been spotted
escaping back to Beijing.

Nothing may actually be true
except for the asterisks,
these random star-shaped symbols
are always a tease, a risk,
Someone might misinterpret them,
call them misinformation.

Premium MemberYour Wish Is My Command

‘Your wish is my command’
he said it just as any woman in love
might want to hear

He said it like he was evening some score
somehow leveling the playing field
but said like he might really mean it some day

He said it like he was divulging some deep secret
that might otherwise never see the light of day
yet here was one step closer to a goal or destination

He said it loud and deliberate
so I could not misinterpret
or pretend I did not hear

‘Your wish is my command’, he said
so I’d know that somewhere below the surface
he meant it to some degree

I knew he liked the gallantry of it
and might even want it be true
so I took the gift as it drifted onto shore

Lone and castaway, a care package of sorts
I didn’t know what I might do with it
but I gathered it under my wing and
offered it a home within my heart

Covid Stealing Oxygen Slam

When you break down the
top headline story

Into the simplest of terms

No human being on earth

Even a child could not misinterpret

Or fail to understand

When and what the newsreader
is actually saying

And yes you did hear those words
come out of his or her mouth

We don't have or have run out
of oxygen

In effect what they are actually
saying

Is the most abundant thing
on earth

Above food or water or even
dry land

We have run out of

Well riddle me this or am
in fact proposing the most

Stupid of questions in the
history of manking

If that statement you just made
was in any way true

In the next 10 minutes

Every living species

Without the ability of oxygen
to breath

Is

Dead

Extinct

Premium MemberNaturally

I wanted it to be an egret.
It most probably was not an egret,
but the word and the bird
seemed one and the same
as I stood alone by the willow
and watched it do a 200 foot kamikaze dive
into the water and disappear.
Suicide always baffled and eluded me.
We’re all kamikazes.
In our finite time we rush headlong into life
until we crash and burn. Then a whisper in my ear,
“not with a bang, but a whimper.”
Egret sounds so much like regret.
Was this the feeling
that was coursing through me now?
I stared blankly at the water, feeling hollow.
The bird surfaced and flew away with a fish.
He had merely been dining out.
He was another beautiful predator.
An oxymoron like us all.
I left my thoughts of suicide
and returned to acting naturally.

Premium MemberSay It Like It Is

The
hidden
energy
grid is alive,
enlivening form
with magnetism warm.
Nodes within electrified,
let out silent screams of delight:
open secret hidden in plain sight;
in renewal within through day and night.

Above and below, within and without,
divine life pulse pervades everything,
cognised within this mind body
as throb of bliss energy.
We cannot mistake it,
nor misinterpret
the joy current
pulsating
within
now.

Premium MemberYou Cannot Hug Everybody

Genuine hugs eliminate problems
quickly uplift you
effectively inspire hope
often help make peace

Hugs are for family, friends, lovers.
They calm, sooth, make you feel loved.
They are kind, joyful and inspire hope.

Unless they are unexpected,
unsolicited, unwelcome hugs.
These can make you feel confused,
tearful, and fearful.

Be careful and fully aware if you are a hugger;
you cannot hug everybody; for some people
especially traumatized people may
misinterpret, misunderstand and become
more traumatized.

It is best to ask.

Premium MemberCan't Make This Right

There was no way to misinterpret
You were a boorish bully
I saw it for myself
It was deliberate and cruel
Absolutely uncalled for
You didn’t back down
You could have but refused
They turned their backs in shame
There’s just no way to make this right
You had your chance
And blew it

just looking
for opportunities
to misinterpret
and distort
every word

looking for a reason
any excuse
to be miserable
as if there isn’t
enough grief
in the world already

Recognition

First off-
you're E~did,

fawned like frozen in a wrong beam of time-

God is only justified by his own usury,

and we don't do the forgotten as a figurine...

We all are falling,
forwardly and softly forestalled,

faked,

forgiving four fickle frogs,

finding our fifty nine frot foe,

just as we fizzle the fantastic flowing fight, fitted-

if that's enough to gloat see me stuck in the next simple dictionary-

having nothing to say to the ears of men who listen,

children who dream,

women who can misinterpret.

Sleeping is optional,

sojourn is an ancient land full of those flaws,

free,

we are not this-
fleet,

we are so fast at adeptly encouraging the sanctimony of the next...

Lies

Lies break so much trust

Lies break so much love

Yet lies we tolerate each day

From government and media

We are brought up being spoon fed lies

Yet we accept this because we refuse to buy

Into this believing that these people would not do that

But smaller lies we tell each other that don’t have the same impact

Rip big holes in people’s lives

Causes bitterness, hate and makes us cry

Yet we ignore and accept on a daily basis great big lives

That distract and misinterpret lives

Lies on war, and consumer ****,

Lies about the universe and reality

Lies about history but it don’t upset us one bit

When you should be devastated

Because you believe this existence to be reality

So you accept this life of suffering

You buy into this life of power and greed

And when you’re laying on your deathbed

You’ll realise money don’t mean a thing

It just affected your ability to be happy

And enjoy the love and light

And to see the truth

Which is everything you experienced was a lie

And you were fooled.

Figuratively

When my words rhyme
Oh how I love the crime
Such forgivable murder
Of words changing order

Tis not only sequence
For you have to make sense
Read between the lines
'Cause that's where the secret lies

Measure not the length
But comprehend the depth
Sometimes brevity
Outweighs vocabulary

Compare by simile
To show what it's like
Or use metaphor simply
As it directly imply

If synecdoche takes part from whole
Metonomy replaces it all
It uses symbol
For things compatible

Words rumble and jumble
As if to personify
Like humans palpable
Worth to exemplify

Don't misinterpret irony
Filled with incongruity
Discern the ambiguity
To reveal its mystery
